The Duke football program kicked off its 2012 Spring Practice Wednesday morning under clear skies in Durham.

The Devils, who will practice 15 times this spring, ran a number of one-on-one drills before moving to various team exercises.

Head coach David Cutcliffe, starting cornerback Ross Cockrell and starting signal-caller Sean Renfree took some time to speak with GoDuke.com after practice to discuss their thoughts on day one.

"I was thrilled coming out of the gate", Cutcliffe said after practice. "It was like I wanted it to be. The execution offensively was exceptional and on defense there were a lot more familiar faces."

To hear what else Cutcliffe and his players had to say, check out the interviews attached to this article.

The Blue Devils will evaulate their first practice in team meetings and film sessions before hitting the field for the second time Friday morning.
