DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head football coach David Cutcliffe announced Wednesday that redshirt freshman offensive tackle Tanner Stone underwent surgery to repair a broken right ankle. In addition, Cutcliffe announced that redshirt freshman offensive tackle Casey Blaser will undergo surgery Thursday to repair a broken right hand.
Stone’s surgery was performed by Dr. Claude T. Moorman III and Dr. Robert D. Zura. Dr. David S. Ruch will handle Blaser’s operation.
Cutcliffe also announced that redshirt sophomore Sam Marshall, who appeared in seven games last season at defensive tackle, has transitioned from the defensive front to offensive tackle. Marshall will now don jersey number 75 while freshman defensive tackle Mike Ramsay, who was wearing number 75, switches to jersey number 99.
