SECOND-LONGEST DRIVE OF THE SEASON: Duke’s 90-yard opening drive was its second-longest drive of the season … Duke’s longest drive of the year was a three-play, 94-yard drive against Troy on September 28

TWO 1,000-YARD PASSERS: Anthony Boone reached 1,000 passing yards for the season, giving Duke two 1,000-yard passers this season alongside Brandon Connette … Duke has had two 1,000-yard passers four times in school history: 1992 (Spence Fisher – 1,505 & Steve Prince – 1,090), 1990 (Dave Brown – 1,444 & Billy Ray – 1,247) and 1989 (Billy Ray – 2,035 & Dave Brown – 1,479)

SHUTOUT HALVES: Duke shut out N.C. State in the first half, marking the fourth straight game in which the Blue Devils have shut out an opponent for an entire half … Duke blanked Navy and Virginia in the second half and held Virginia Tech scoreless in the first half … the Blue Devils had held their last four opponents scoreless in 9-of-14 quarters before N.C. State scored in the third quarter

RED ZONE DEFENSE: Duke held N.C. State to just two field goals in three trips inside the red zone

DUKE SCORES TDs VIA OFFENSE, DEFENSE & SPECIAL TEAMS: Duke scored touchdowns via rush, kickoff return and interception return, marking the first time since Sept. 15, 2012 against N.C. Central in which the Blue Devils scored in those three facets of the game … the kickoff return DeVon Edwards was Duke’s third return touchdown of the season, while the two interception returns for touchdown by Edwards were Duke’s first defensive scores of the season.

DE Kenny Anunike: Logged a career-high 11 tackles … carded his team-leading 11th tackle for loss … has at least one tackle for loss in eight of Duke’s nine games this season … logged at least five tackles for the third straight game

QB Anthony Boone: Completed 13-of-21 passes for 139 yards … scored on a four-yard touchdown run on Duke’s opening drive, putting the Blue Devils ahead 7-0 … touchdown run followed a 75-yard completion to Jamison Crowder … the score was his 10th career rushing touchdown, moving him into fifth place for most rushing touchdowns by a Duke quarterback… completed his first eight passes for 104 yards, including the 75-yard completion to Crowder … also threw three interceptions on the day

LB Kelby Brown: Finished the day with 10 tackles, including six solo stops … reached double-digit tackles for the second straight game and third time this season … it was his eighth career game with double-digit tackles … forced an NC State fumble in the second quarter with the Wolfpack inside the Duke 25-yard line … the forced fumble was the first of the season for Brown and the second of his career … forced a turnover for the second straight game … recorded his first sack of the season and fourth of his career … the sack came with NC State facing 3rd-and-goal from Duke’s 3-yard line and forced the Wolfpack to settle for a 29-yard field goal … reached 20.0 tackles for loss for his career with a pair of TFLs today

S Jeremy Cash: Had six tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery on the day … recovered an NC State fumble in the second quarter with the Wolfpack inside the Duke 25-yard line … the fumble recovery was the first of his career … intercepted an NC State pass late in the fourth quarter … the interception was his fourth pick in the last five games and second straight game with an INT   

QB Brandon Connette: Scored the go-ahead touchdown on a five-yard run to put Duke ahead 24-20 with 3:31 remaining in the fourth quarter … the go-ahead, fourth-quarter score was the third Connette has been responsible for this season … set the school single-season record for game-winning, fourth-quarter touchdown responsibility with three (Memphis, Virginia & N.C. State) … Connette also threw the game-winning fourth-quarter touchdown passes against Memphis and Virginia … matches school career record for game-winning, fourth-quarter touchdown responsibility record with three, equaling the standard set by George Clark, who had three game-winning rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter against Alabama (1945 Sugar Bowl), Wake Forest (1945) and Wake Forest (1947) … joins George Dutrow and Sean Renfree as the only players in Duke history to throw and rush for at least one game-winning, fourth-quarter touchdown … Connette’s touchdown was his eighth score on the ground this season and 25th career rushing touchdown … now ranks second all-time on the rushing touchdowns chart in school history, trailing only Tom Davis’ 28 (1941-44) … rushed eight times for 40 yards on the afternoon … completed 7-of-13 passes for 59 yards

WR Jamison Crowder: Caught seven passes for 134 yards to post his fifth 100-yard receiving game of the season to move into a tie for third place for the most 100-yard receiving games in Duke history … matches the total he set in 2012 and also those by Wes Chesson (1970), Clarkston Hines (1989), Donovan Varner (2009) and Conner Vernon (2012) … it was the 10th career 100-yard receiving game for Crowder … caught his third career pass of at least 75 yards on Duke’s opening drive … the play was his 12th reception of at least 20 yards this season … the play tied for Duke’s longest play from scrimmage this season, matching the 75-yard touchdown reception by Brandon Braxton against Pitt … moved into eight place on Duke’s career receiving yards list with 2,140 yards  

TE Braxton Deaver: Caught multiple passes for the ninth consecutive game

S DeVon Edwards: Scored three touchdowns, one on a 100-yard kickoff return and the others on back-to-back interception returns of 25 and 45 yards … interception returns came on back-to-back offensive plays by NC State … the first NCAA FBS player to score three non-offensive touchdowns in past 10 seasons … the first Duke player to score on interception returns on back-to-back plays since CB Leon Wright did so against Army on Sept. 12, 2009 … his 218 total yards ranks second all-time among Duke freshmen in a single game (Desmond Scott, 259 yards vs. Wake Forest in 2009) … returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to put Duke ahead 17-13 … the 100-yard kickoff return tied for the second longest in Duke history, matching returns set by Greg Boone (1992 vs. Tennessee), Leroy Gallman (1993 vs. Tennessee) and Ronnie Drummer (2005 vs. East Carolina) … the last Duke kickoff return for a touchdown was 94 yards by Jabari Marshall versus Connecticut in 2007 … returned three kickoffs for 148 yards and a 49.33 average … Edwards is averaging 32.70 yards per kickoff return this season … picked off an NC State pass and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown, putting Duke ahead 31-20 to seal the victory … intercepted another NC State pass on the Wolfpack’s next offensive play and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown … the interceptions were the first two of his career … finished with 10 tackles … reached double-digit tackles for the second straight game

DE Justin Foxx: Had four tackles … recorded his second sack of the season in the fourth quarter … now has 9.5 career sacks

LB David Helton: Had a team-high 12 tackles on the day, including eight in the first half … reached double-digit tackles for the second straight game and third time this season … came up with a drive-stopping tackle on 4th-and-1 at the NC State 26-yard line … recorded his first quarterback hurry of the season … logged 7+ tackles for the ninth straight game

PK Ross Martin: Hit a 36-yard field goal in the second quarter to put Duke up 10-0 … it was his sixth consecutive made field goal

P Will Monday: Booted a 58-yard punt for his third longest kick of the year … had three punts travel at least 50 yards … averaged 46.1 yards per punt on the day … had two punts downed inside the 20 and one inside the 5

RT Perry Simmons: Started his 46th consecutive game
