DUKE WINS ACC COASTAL DIVISION CROWN: For the first time since the ACC went to divisional play in 2005, Duke won the ACC Coastal Division title … Duke will play Florida State in the ACC Championship for the program’s first appearance in the league title game … Duke finished 6-2 in the ACC, winning the Coastal division outright … the six ACC wins are Duke’s most conference victories in a season since 1989 (6-1) … in the eight seasons of ACC divisional play prior to 2013, Duke won a total of nine league games … Duke’s last ACC Championship came in 1989 when the Blue Devils shared first place with Virginia (6-1)

DUKE BREAKS SCHOOL WIN RECORD: Duke won its 10th game of the season, breaking the school record for wins (9) previously held by the 1941, 1938, 1936 and 1933 Duke teams … all four of those teams finished the season 9-1

WIN STREAK REACHES EIGHT: Duke won its eighth game in a row, tying for the fourth longest win streak in school history … Duke’s last win streak of at least eight games came in 1941 … the1938 and 1933 Duke teams also won nine games in a row

DUKE STAYS UNDEFEATED ON THE ROAD: Duke won its fifth road game of the season to improve to 5-0 away from Wallace Wade Stadium this season … Duke has also defeated Memphis (28-14), Virginia (35-22), Virginia Tech (13-10) and Wake Forest (28-21) on the road this season … the last time Duke finished the regular season undefeated in true road games was in 1962 (4-0) … Duke has gone undefeated in true road games eight times, most recently in 1962

FOURTH-QUARTER COMEBACKS: Duke put together its fourth fourth-quarter victory of the season, overcoming a 25-24 deficit in the final period … Duke also defeated Memphis (28-14), Virginia (35-22) and NC State (38-20) in the fourth quarter this season … the four fourth-quarter wins (Duke tied or trailing in the fourth quarter) are a school record, surpassing the three fourth-quarter wins by the 1988, 1962 and 1961 Blue Devils

FOURTH-QUARTER DEFENSE: Duke surrendered a single field goal in the fourth quarter and has allowed just 37 fourth-quarter points this season (3.1 points allowed per period) … Duke has not surrendered more than seven points in a fourth quarter all season and owns an FBS-best +76 scoring margin in the fourth quarter … Duke has been outscored in the fourth quarter by only Virginia Tech (3-0) this season … Duke has shut out the opposition in the fourth quarter five times in 2012, including back-to-back games against Miami and Wake Forest

INTERCEPTION STREAK CONTINUES: LB Kelby Brown and S DeVon Edwards both had interceptions to give Duke at least one pick in eight consecutive games ... Duke has 16 interceptions this season for the most in the David Cutcliffe era and the team’s most since the 1999 season (16)

CAPTAINS & COIN TOSS: Duke’s captains for the game were QB Anthony Boone, CB Ross Cockrell, DE Justin Foxx and OG Dave Harding … North Carolina won the opening coin toss and deferred … Duke received the opening kickoff

101st SEASON: Duke is in its 101st season of football and played its 991st game … Duke now holds an all-time record of 474-492-31

GOAL-TO-GO STREAK ENDS: Duke snapped a streak of 23 consecutive goal-to-go opportunities that resulted in touchdowns in the first half when North Carolina held Duke at the three-yard line and forced a 22-yard field goal from Ross Martin … Duke had converted every goal-to-go opportunity into touchdowns this season

LONG DRIVE: Duke put together a scoring drive of 17 plays, 95 yards and 8:20 in the second quarter that was the longest of the season in number of plays, yards and time … the drive resulted in a 22-yard field goal by Ross Martin that put Duke ahead 10-7

DUKE GETS FOURTH KICK RETURN TD OF THE SEASON: DeVon Edwards returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter to put Duke ahead 17-15 … the kickoff return for a touchdown was the second of the season for Edwards, giving Duke multiple kickoff return touchdowns for the fourth time in school history … Duke joins Rutgers as the only schools to return multiple punts and kickoffs for touchdowns this season … Duke also got a pair of punt return touchdowns from Jamison Crowder this season, marking the first time in school history the Blue Devils have returned multiple punts and kickoffs for touchdowns … the four kick returns for touchdowns are a school record, besting the four punt returns for touchdowns in 1937, two of which were on blocked punts

QB Anthony Boone: Completed 23-of-34 (.677) passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns … the two touchdown passes were his ninth and 10th of the season, giving Duke two players with double-digit passing touchdowns for the second time in school history (1989 – Billy Ray (15) & Dave Brown (14)) … both touchdown passes went to Jamison Crowder for their fourth and fifth touchdown hookups of the season … did not throw an interception for the second straight game … threw multiple touchdown passes for the second straight game ... logged a completion percentage over .600 for the fourth straight game

WR Brandon Braxton: Totaled five receptions for a team-high 70 receiving yards

LB Kelby Brown: Totaled seven tackles, including six solo stops, to go with two QB hurries and an interception … the interception was his second of the season, coming on a tipped ball off the hand of North Carolina TE Eric Ebron … interception set up a 50-yard touchdown drive that put Duke ahead 24-15 … the two QB hurries were a career high and both came in the first half … has a QB hurry in three consecutive games and leads Duke with eight for the season … eclipsed the 100-tackle mark, bringing his season total to a career-high 101

S Jeremy Cash: Logged 13 tackles for his team-leading fifth double-digit tackle game of the season … improved his season tackle total to 109 for the year

QB Brandon Connette: Caught his first pass of the year, a five-yard first-down pass from Anthony Boone

WR Jamison Crowder: Caught five passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns … posted his second straight game with multiple touchdown receptions and third game with multiple touchdowns … broke Duke’s single-season receptions record of 85 set by Conner Vernon in 2012 … sits atop the list with 88 receptions this season … moved into second place on Duke’s single-season receiving yards list with 1,131, surpassing Wes Chesson’s 1970 total of 1,080 and Clarkston Hines’ 1987 campaign of 1,093 … needs just 18 receiving yards to match the single-season record of 1,149 set by Hines in 1989 … posted his 21st career game with at least five receptions, moving into a tie for second on Duke’s all-time list alongside Hines (1986-89) … the five-catch game was his 11th of the season, matching the school record set by Vernon in 2012

TE Braxton Deaver: Logged a season-high seven receptions for 65 yards … his first four receptions went for first downs … extended his streak of multi-catch games to 12 … has 36 receptions this season for the 11th best single-season total by a Duke tight end … his 467 receiving yards rank as the 10th highest by a Duke tight end

RB Jela Duncan: Rushed nine times for 25 yards and grabbed a career-long 29-yard reception in the fourth quarter … catch set up the eventual game-winning 27-yard field goal by Ross Martin

S DeVon Edwards: Logged eight tackles, one interception and one pass breakup … the interception sealed the victory with 13 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter … returned three kickoffs for 138 yards, including a 99-yard return for a touchdown … the 46.0 yards per kickoff return was the fifth highest single-game average in Duke history … the kickoff return for a touchdown was his second of the season … the two kickoff return touchdowns tie a school single-season record, matching the two kickoff return scores by Randy Jones in 1990 (88 yards vs. Western Carolina, 97 yards vs. Wake Forest) … has four returns for touchdowns this season, including two kickoff returns and two interception returns

CB Bryon Fields: Totaled seven tackles

LB David Helton: Logged nine tackles to bring his season total to a team-leading 114

RB Shaquille Powell: Rushed for a team-high 57 yards on nine carries … led Duke in rushing yards for the first time in his career …

S Deondre Singleton: Totaled five tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss … was his fifth straight game with five or more tackles
