DUKE HOLDS FSU OFFENSE IN FIRST QUARTER: Duke held Florida State scoreless in the first quarter for the first time since Nov. 24, 2012 against Florida … Florida State had scored in the first quarter in 14 consecutive games … the Seminoles entered the game with a first-quarter scoring margin of +16.4 this season … the Seminoles scored just 17 points in the first half to match their lowest first-half scoring output this season (vs. Florida & vs. Nevada)

DUKE FORCES MULTIPLE TURNOVERS: Duke recorded turnovers via fumble and interception, marking the fourth time in the past five games Duke has forced multiple turnovers … Duke recorded an interception for the ninth straight game

DUKE SHUT OUT IN FIRST HALF: Duke failed to score in the first half for the first time all season … Duke advanced into Florida State territory on just three of its eight first-half drives, including a missed 48-yard field goal

WIN STREAK STOPS AT EIGHT: Duke’s eight-game win streak came to a close with the loss to Florida State … the streak was the fourth longest in school history … the 1941, 1938 and 1933 Duke teams won nine games in a row

DUKE LOSES AWAY FROM HOME FOR FIRST TIME: Duke lost away from home for the first time all season … Duke finished the regular season 5-0 in road games, defeating Memphis (28-14), Virginia (35-22), Virginia Tech (13-10), Wake Forest (28-21) and North Carolina (27-25) on the road this season

FOURTH-QUARTER DEFENSE: Duke matched Florida State 7-7 in the fourth quarter and extended a streak of not allowing more than seven points in the fourth quarter for all 13 games this season … Duke has allowed just 44 fourth-quarter points this season (3.4 points allowed per period) and has outscored opponents by an average of 5.85 points in the fourth quarter … Duke’s +76 fourth-quarter scoring margin is the best in the FBS … Duke has been outscored in the fourth quarter by only Virginia Tech (3-0) this season

INTERCEPTION STREAK CONTINUES: Duke had two interceptions – both by freshman CB Breon Borders – to extend a streak of nine consecutive games with an interception … Duke’s 18 interceptions this season are the program’s most since the 1981 team had 19

CAPTAINS & COIN TOSS: Duke’s captains for the game were QB Anthony Boone, CB Ross Cockrell, DE Justin Foxx, OG Dave Harding and RB Juwan Thompson … Florida State won the opening coin toss and deferred … Duke received the opening kickoff and defended the north goal

101ST SEASON: Duke is in its 101st season of football and played its 998th game … Duke now holds an all-time record of 474-493-31

QB Anthony Boone: Completed 20-of-40 passes for 138 yards … threw two interceptions

CB Breon Borders: Grabbed two interceptions to tie the Duke freshman single-game record (John Talley vs. Clemson in 2007, Ross Cockrell vs. Virginia in 2010) … the two picks are the most by a player in an ACC Championship game … broke the Duke freshman single-season record with four interceptions, surpassing the previous mark of three previously held by Cockrell and Wyatt Smith (1988) … Borders is the only true freshman to record four interceptions … moved into a tie for second on Duke’s single-season passes defended by a freshman list with 12, passing Cockrell who had 10 in 2010 and tying Fonda Williams (12 PD in 1985) … added four tackles on the night

LB Kelby Brown: Had five tackles, including 1.0 tackles for loss … now has 9.5 tackles for loss on the season … recorded his second pass breakup of the season and fifth of his career

S Jeremy Cash: Had a team-high eight tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss … recorded his second career fumble recovery, picking up a ball stripped by CB Ross Cockrell on the Duke 3-yard line … increased his tackle total to 117 on the year for the most by a Duke defensive back since safety Matt Daniels had 126 in 2011

CB Ross Cockrell: Stripped Florida State RB Devonta Freeman of the ball at the Duke 4-yard line for his first caused fumble this season and second of his career … the fumble was recovered by S Jeremy Cash for Duke’s fourth red-zone takeaway this season … added four tackles on the night

WR Jamison Crowder: Caught a game-high eight passes for 66 yards … broke Duke’s single-season receiving yards record, surpassing the 1,149 yards compiled by Clarkston Hines in 1989 … now has 96 receptions for 1,197 receiving yards on the season … became only the second player in ACC history to reach the 90-catch plateau and trails only Kenneth Moore (Wake Forest, 2007), who had a league-record 98 receptions, on the ACC single-season record list … moved into sixth place on Duke’s all-time career receiving yards list, passing Scottie Montgomery (2,378 from 1996-99) with 2,434 career yards … returned a punt 40 yards in the second quarter for the second longest in ACC Championship history … moved into second place on Duke’s single-season all-purpose yardage list with 1,669 yards this season (1,197 receiving, 401 punt return and 71 rushing), trailing only the 1,849 all-purpose yards totaled by RB Chris Douglas in 2001 … the 40-yard punt return was Crowder’s third of at least 40 yards this season and eighth of at least 20 yards … increased his season punt return yardage total to 401, becoming the third Duke player to eclipse 400 punt return yards in a season and the first since Troy Slade, who had a school-record 440 in 1973 … recorded his 22nd career game with at least five receptions to move past Clarkston Hines into second place on Duke’s all-time list … extended his streak of at least four receptions to 15 consecutive games

TE Braxton Deaver: Totaled four receptions for 17 yards … caught multiple passes for the 13th consecutive game … caught a 17-yard reception on 3rd-and-16 for a first down

S DeVon Edwards: Totaled five tackles and one pass breakup … the PBU was his  sixth of the season, all of which have come in his past five games

S Bryon Fields: Recorded his first career sack on FSU QB Jameis Winston for a loss of nine yards … added four tackles

LB David Helton: Tied for the team lead with eight tackles to increase his team-leading total to 122

DE Dezmond Johnson: Recorded his fourth QB hurry of the season and ninth of his career to force a drive-killing third-down pass incompletion by FSU QB Jameis Winston

P Will Monday: Set an ACC Championship game record with nine punts and 375 punt yards … Monday averaged 41.7 yards per punt for his 11th game this season averaging at least 40.0 yards per punt

CB Garett Patterson: Started his 13th consecutive game and recorded his third pass breakup this season and his first since week two against Memphis … played in his 50th consecutive game

RB Shaquille Powell: Led Duke with eight rush attempts, 44 rushing yards and 5.5 yards per rush … ripped off a 21-yard run in the third quarter that was his third rush of at least 20 yards this season … totaled at least 50 rushing yards for the third time in Duke’s past four games

OT Perry Simmons: Started his 50th career game, a streak that includes every game of his college career … suffered a leg injury in the second half and did not return
 
S Deondre Singleton: Totaled five tackles for his sixth consecutive game with at least five tackles … broke up his fourth pass of the season, connecting with WR Rashad Greene downfield in the first quarter to knock the ball loose
