DURHAM, N.C. – Duke wide receiver Jamison Crowder was named to the Sports Illustrated All-America second team as a punt returner, the publication announced Tuesday. Redshirt freshman safety DeVon Edwards also received All-America honorable mention honors as a kickoff returner.

Crowder, a 5-9, 175-pound junior, has set school records with 96 receptions and 1,197 receiving yards this season to lead the ACC in receptions and rank second in receiving yards. He has scored 10 touchdowns this season, including seven receiving, two on punt returns and one rushing, while totaling 1,669 all-purpose yards.

Also an All-ACC first team selection at both wide receiver and punt returner, Crowder averages 16.0 yards per punt return with his two return touchdowns covering 82 and 76 yards. His 1,669 all-purpose yards are the second-most in school history and trail the school record by 180.

Crowder’s 96 receptions are two shy of tying the ACC single-season record held by Wake Forest’s Kenneth Moore. He has at least four receptions in every game this season and at least 10 catches three times in 2013. His six 100-yard games this season are tied for Duke’s single-season record.

Edwards took over as Duke’s primary kickoff returner in week five and has since averaged an ACC-leading 31.1 yards per kickoff return with two touchdowns covering 100 and 99 yards. He has four total touchdowns – two on interception returns – this season despite not playing a single offensive snap.

A Walter Camp Foundation All-America second team selection and a Freshman All-America choice by Sporting News, Edwards accounted for three touchdowns in Duke’s 38-20 win against N.C. State on Nov. 9, returning two interceptions for scores and a 100-yard kickoff return. His interception returns came on back-to-back plays and covered 25 and 45 yards.

Also a starter at safety, Edwards has logged 55 tackles, three interceptions and six pass breakups in six starts. He has reached double-digit tackles twice and secured the game-winning interception with 13 seconds remaining in Duke’s school-record 10th victory of the year at North Carolina on Nov. 30.

Crowder, Edwards and the Blue Devils take on Texas A&M in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta on Dec. 31. For tickets, visit or call (919) 681-BLUE.
