Duke 80, UCLA 63

Team Notes:

•    Duke had a 20-point scorer for the 11th straight game, as Jabari Parker poured in a game-high 23 points. Duke has 18 20-point games this season, including nine from Jabari Parker, five from Rodney Hood, two from Cook and one from Rasheed Sulaimon.

•    Duke improved to 10-6 all-time against UCLA and won its fourth straight against the Bruins. Duke is 8-1 against UCLA under head coach Mike Krzyzewski.     

•    Four Blue Devils scored in double figures for the second straight game. Duke is 6-0 this season when at least four players score in double figures. Quinn Cook, Rodney Hood and Jabari Parker all scored in double figures together for the ninth time in Duke’s 11 games.

•    Duke entered halftime tied 37-37, marking the first time all season Duke did not carry a lead into halftime.

•    Duke used the starting lineup of Quinn Cook, Josh Hairston, Rodney Hood, Jabari Parker and Tyler Thornton for the fifth straight game, marking the fifth time this season that Duke has started all three team captains (Hairston, Hood, Thornton). Cook, Hood and Parker have started every game this season.

•    Duke scored 80 points for the eighth time in 11 games this season. Duke scored 80 points 13 times in 36 games in 2012-13.

•    Tied at 45-45 in the second half, Duke opened up a 15-4 run by hitting 6-of-8 field goals, including a combined three three-pointers from Hood and Parker.  Duke never relinquished the lead for the remainder of the game.

•    Duke matched a season high with 21 assists with Cook and Parker contributing five apiece.

•    Duke held its third straight opponent under 70 points. Duke is 5-0 this season when holding the opposition under 70 points.

•    Duke improved to 29-16 all-time in Madison Square Garden, including a 2-1 mark this season. The Blue Devils have won 16 of their past 19 games in the historic venue and are 24-8 at MSG all-time under Coach K.

•    Mike Krzyzewski improved his all-time record to 966-299 (.764) and his Duke record to 893-240 (.788). Krzyzewski is NCAA Division I’s all-time leader in victories and ranks second for victories at one school.

•    Duke played its 223rd straight game as a top-10 team. The Blue Devils are 185-38 (.830) in those games.

Player Notes:

Quinn Cook

•    Made his 45th consecutive start, the longest active streak on the team.

•    Scored in double figures for the eighth straight game and 10th time this season, sinking 6-of-14 shots on the way to 14 points. Cook led Duke in field goal attempts for the first time this season.

•    Logged a career-high eight steals, surpassing his previous high of five set in against Minnesota on Nov. 22, 2012.

•    Hit a three-pointer in the seventh straight game and finished 2-of-7 from beyond the arc. Cook has multiple treys in three straight games and in eight of 11 games.

•    Played all 40 minutes for his second 40-minute game of the season. Cook leads Duke with 35.5 minutes per game.

Rodney Hood

•    Scored in double figures for the 10th time in 11 games, totaling 14 points.

•    Hit a three-pointer for the eighth straight game, finishing 2-of-6 from behind the arc. Hood is shooting .439 (18-of-41) from three-point range this season.

•    Grabbed at least five rebounds in the third straight game.

Amile Jefferson

•    Scored in double figures for the third time this season and first time since Nov. 12 against Kansas. Jefferson hit 5-of-6 field goal attempts on the way to 11 points.

•    Grabbed seven rebounds, including two on the offensive glass. Jefferson is tied for the team lead alongside Jabari Parker with 20 offensive rebounds.

•    Logged multiple blocks for the first time all season.

Jabari Parker

•    Put together his ninth 20-point game this season, which already ranks tied for third on Duke’s freshman list alongside Johnny Dawkins (1982-83) and J.J. Redick (2002-03). The Duke record for 20-point games by a freshman is held by Gene Banks, who totaled 11 in 1977-78.

•    Logged his third double-double of the season, finishing with 20 points and a career-high matching 10 rebounds.

•    Became the first Duke freshman to post 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a game since Corey Maggette in 1998.

•    Scored a game-high 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-8 from three-point range.

•    Dished out a career-high five assists to match point guard Quinn Cook for the team lead.

Rasheed Sulaimon

•    Scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting, his highest point total since scoring eight against Arizona on Nov. 29 in Madison Square Garden. Sulaimon hit 2-of-4 three-pointers for his first game with multiple three-pointers since the season opener when he hit 3-of-4 against Davidson.

•    Logged four assists, his second highest total of the season.
