Team Notes: • Duke had a 20-point scorer for the 12th straight game, as Jabari Parker led the team with 23 points for his 10th 20-point game, while Andre Dawkins netted 20 points for his first 20-point effort of the season. • Duke extended its home court winning streak to 24 games, the second longest streak in the country behind only Missouri’s 25-game streak. Duke is 8-0 in Cameron Indoor Stadium this season. • Duke improved to 53-14 all-time when ranked ninth in the AP Poll. The Blue Devils have won 12 straight games when ranked No. 9 in the AP Poll. • Duke won its 24th straight game in the month of December and improved to 180-26 under Coach K in the month. • Duke scored 80 points for the ninth time in 12 games this season. Duke scored 80 points 13 times in 36 games in 2013. • Duke held a 37-27 lead at halftime, giving the Blue Devils the halftime lead in 11 of 12 games this season. The Blue Devils were tied with UCLA at the half in their last outing. • Duke used the starting lineup of Quinn Cook, Josh Hairston, Andre Dawkins, Jabari Parker and Tyler Thornton for the first time this season as Rodney Hood was a late scratch from the starting lineup after getting sick just prior to tip-off. Hood entered the game at the 17:19 mark and went on to play 25 minutes. • Duke went 10-of-29 (.345) from three-point range in the contest. The Blue Devils have now made 10 or more three-point field goals in a game six times • Duke extended its non-conference home-court winning streak to 109. • Mike Krzyzewski improved his all-time record to 967-299 and his Duke record to 894-240. Krzyzewski is NCAA Division I’s all-time leader in victories and ranks second for victories at one school. • Duke played its 223rd straight game as a top-10 team. The Blue Devils are 185-38 (.829) in those games. • Duke had all 11 players that saw action in the game score. The Blue Devils had 34 bench points in the contest.
Quinn Cook • Made his 46th consecutive start, the longest active streak on the team. • Had a string of eight straight double figure scoring games snapped. • Recorded seven assists, marking the seventh time he has had seven or more assists in a game. • Collected five steals in the game giving him 13 steals in Duke’s last two contests. • Hit a three-pointer for the eighth straight game.
Andre Dawkins • Recorded his first 20-point game of the season and the seventh of his career. • Was a last minute addition to the starting lineup after Rodney Hood became ill following player introductions. • Scored 20 points, including 12 in the second half on 4-of-4 shooting from three-point range … closed the game 6-of-10 from three-point distance. • Knocked down six three-point field goals, marking the 27th time in his career he has made three or more three-pointers in a game. • Improved his career scoring total to 852, just 148 points shy of joining the 1,000-point club. • Has now made 192 career three-point field goals … ranks fifth in Duke history in three-point percentage (.410 – 192-of-468).
Rodney Hood • Missed scoring in double figures for just the second time this season … finished with eight points, eight rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes. • Did not start the contest after becoming ill just after player introductions … was the first Blue Devil off the bench • Hit a three-pointer for the ninth straight game, finishing 2-of-7 from behind the arc. • Has now had five or more rebounds in five straight games and eight times overall
Amile Jefferson • Recorded a career-high 14 rebounds, including six offensive boards … also had seven points and a block • Made all five free throw attempts … entered the contest 9-of-30 (.300) from the charity stripe.
Jabari Parker • Put together his 10th 20-point game this season, which already ranks tied for second on Duke’s freshman list alongside Mike Gminski (1976-77). The Duke record for 20-point games by a freshman is held by Gene Banks, who totaled 11 in 1977-78. • Finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in just 27 minutes of action. • Had five dunks in the game to run his season total to 21 dunks. • Made nine field goals and has now recorded seven or more made field goals in all 12 games.
Rasheed Sulaimon • Registered his third double-figure scoring game of the year … finished with 13 points to go along with two rebounds, three assists and two steals. • Went 9-of-11 from the free throw line to improve to 27-of-35 (.771) from the line this season.
