KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- Sophomore Motin Yeung fired rounds of 69 and 72 to lead Duke into fourth place after 36 holes of play at the Irish Creek Collegiate. The Blue Devils carded a nine-over 577 Saturday to sit seven shots off the pace heading into tomorrow's final round at the Club at Irish Creek.

North Florida posted a five-under 279 in the second round to climb into a first place tie with Georgia State at 570 (+2). Charlotte is one shot back after recording rounds of 287 and 284 with Duke (577) and Ohio State (579) holding down the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, in the 16-team field.

MJ Maguire (North Florida) fired a tournament-low 64 (-7) in the afternoon round to grab a share of the individual lead, along with Charlotte's Thomas Rowland, with a 36-hole total of 137. Yeung is four shots off the lead and tied for seventh at one-under, while senior Austin Cody is tied for 16th after back-to-back rounds of 72.

Yeung registered seven birdies on the day including four in the opening round as he posted his team-leading eighth under-par round of the season. The Beijing native opened the tournament with a birdie on the par 4 fourth hole and added a birdie on No. 6 to get to two-under after three holes of play. He suffered a bogey on No. 7 before moving to three-under with birdies on No. 12 and No. 14. Yeung parred seven of the final eight holes with a bogey on No. 1 for a two-under 69. In the afternoon session, he bogeyed his opening hole before responding with birdies on No. 5 and No. 7 to move into red figures. Yeung carded 10 pars and three bogeys over the next 13 holes before ending the day with a birdie the par 3 third hole.

Cody also opened the tournament with a birdie (No. 6), but suffered a double-bogey and bogey on No. 8 and No. 9 to fall to two-over. He added a birdie on the par 5 14th hole before slipping to three-over with bogeys on No. 18 and No. 1. Following three pars, Cody capped off the round with an eagle on the 322-yard, par 4 fifth hole. He opened the second round with another birdie on No. 6 and bounced back from a bogey on No. 11 with birdies on No. 13 and No. 14 to get to two-under. Following four straight pars, Cody ran into trouble with a double-bogey on No. 1 and ended the day with a second round of 72 following a bogey on No. 18.

Freshman Alexander Matlari is tied for 36th with a five-over 147 Saturday. After struggling with seven bogeys in the opening round en route to a five-over 76, he settled in for an even-par 71 in the afternoon. Matlari carded five birdies in the second round, including birdies on all three par 5s.

Turner Southey-Gordon is also tied for 36th heading into the final round of play. The native of Toronto posted rounds of 74 and 73 and could have scored better if not for double-bogeys on No. 1 in both rounds. Southey-Gordon recorded two birdies in each round and finished the day with 27 pars.

Junior Michael Ricaurte rebounded from an opening round 80 with an even-par 71 in the afternoon session. He got off to a terrible start to the tournament with three double-bogeys and two bogeys over his first six holes of play. Ricaurte settled in to play the next 29 holes at one-under before suffering a double-bogey on the final hole. The Columbus, Ohio, native recorded five birdies in the second round en route to his second even-par round of the season.

Freshmen Max Greyserman and Andrew Bieber are competing as individuals at the Irish Creek Collegiate. Greyserman posted rounds of 75 and 71 to move into a tie for 27th, while Bieber is tied for 60th with a 150 (77-73).

Sunday's final round opens with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start with Duke paired with Ohio State and Wake Forest. Live scoring for the event is available www.golfstat.com.
