Football Coaching Staff
Deonto McCormick
Cornerback

Deonto McCormick joined the Duke coaching staff prior to the 2007 season and serves as a graduate assistant coach.

A native of Adel, Ga., McCormick earned four varsity letters as a defensive back and wide receiver at Duke before graduating in 2007.

Playing in 43 games with 28 starting assignments, McCormick finished his career with 98 tackles, one interception and 19 pass breakups as a cornerback. On offense, he posted 14 receptions for 113 yards in 2004. Late in the 2004 season, he switched from wide receiver to cornerback and posted the lone interception of his career with just over one minute remaining in the fourth quarter against Clemson.  The pickoff led to Duke's game-winning 53-yard field goal as time expired in the Blue Devils’ 16-13 triumph over the Tigers.

In 2006, McCormick finished ninth on the team in total tackles with 39 while pacing the squad with nine pass breakups. He was named the co-recipient of the Micah Harris Trinity Teammate Award.

As a prep at Cook County High School, McCormick was a first team all-state pick by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Georgia Sports Writers Association.
