Setting the Scene...
    In a top 25 showdown, the fifth-ranked Duke women’s basketball team (19-1, 9-0) will travel down Tobacco Road on Sunday, Feb. 3 as the Blue Devils will take on 11th-ranked North Carolina (20-2, 8-1) at Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, N.C.
    Sunday’s game will tip at 1:00 p.m., on ESPNU with Sam Gore (PXP) and LaChina Robinson (Color) calling the action. 
    The game will be aired live on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network on WDNC AM 620 with Steve Barnes (PXP) and Morgan Patrick (Color) on the air.  The audio is also available live at
    Duke will next travel to Charlottesville, Va., for a Friday, Feb. 8 contest on ESPN3 against Virginia.

Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
    • Duke boasts three players ranking in the top 10 nationally -- Elizabeth Williams in blocks (8th, 3.1), Chelsea Gray in steals (3rd, 3.9) and Tricia Liston in three-point field goal percentage (3rd, 48.3).  The Blue Devils are the only team in the ACC with three different players ranking in the top 10 nationally in different categories.
    •    Duke and UConn are the only schools in the nation with three different players ranking in the top 10 of different NCAA statistics.
    •    As a team, Duke is first in three-point field goal percentage (42.4) and fifth in steals (13.4) nationally. 
    •    Sunday’s game will feature two of the top teams in the current ACC standings as Duke is first with a 9-0 mark and UNC is tied for second with an 8-1 record along with Maryland.
    •    With one more ACC victory, Duke will reach 10 league wins for the 16th straight year.
    •    Duke has notched five different players with at least one block in each of the last two games.
    •    In ACC games only, the Blue Devils lead the league with a 46.9 scoring defense and 32.0 field goal percentage defense.
    •    Chelsea Gray has swiped 19 steals the last three games for an average of  6.3.
    •    Elizabeth Williams is averaging 8.1 points and hitting 56.6 of her field goals in the second half this season.
    •    Duke is averaging 26.2 points off turnovers this season.
    •    The Blue Devils have averaged 26.3 points off the bench the last three contests.
    •    Chelsea Gray is averaging 4.8 steals in ACC games to lead the league.
    •    Over the last two years, Duke is 18-0 when Chelsea Gray dishes seven or more assists.  The Blue Devils are also 5-5 when Gray attempts 14 or more field goals.
    •    Elizabeth Williams has blocked at least one shot in every collegiate game she has played - 53 straight.  The streak is the second-best in school history behind Alison Bales’ 55 in 2003-05.  Dating back to high school, Williams has blocked a shot in 71 straight games as she closed her H.S. career with blocks in 19 consecutive contests.
    •    Elizabeth Williams has notched double-figure scoring against 22 consecutive ACC opponents.
    •    Chelsea Gray leads Duke with 12 charges taken on the season.  Gray has 29 for her career.  She has moved into seventh place on Duke’s all-time charges taken list.        
    •    Elizabeth Williams is second in the league with a 58.5 field goal percentage in ACC games only.
    •    Chelsea Gray has moved into sixth place on Duke’s all-time steals chart with 237 steals.  Gray needs 24 steals to move into a tie for fifth on the list.
    • Duke is averaging 76.8 points this season, which is the most for a Blue Devil squad since 2005-06 with an 86.0 ledger.  The most for a Coach P squad in her previous five years was 75.2 in 2008-09.
    •    After holding Virginia Tech to a school-record low of 26 points on Jan. 16,  head coach Joanne P. McCallie has held 22 different opponents to under 40 points since arriving at Duke in 2007-08.
     •    The Blue Devils registered a 3.3 grade-point average in the fall semester, which included five student-athletes with above a 3.5 GPA.  A total of 11 Blue Devils had a 3.0 or better.
    •    Following Richa Jackson’s 16-point effort at Boston College, Duke now features 10 Blue Devils who have posted double-figure scoring at least one time this season, which leads the ACC.
    •    Duke has hit 50.0 percent or better from the field in seven different games.
    •    The Blue Devils own four different student-athletes hitting over 40.0 percent or better from downtown -- Tricia Liston (48.3), Haley Peters (46.9), Alexis Jones (40.0) and Chloe Wells (51.9).
    • Tricia Liston had her streak of 18 straight games with at least one three-pointer come to an end at N.C. State on Jan. 3.  It was the longest streak since Georgia Schweitzer hit treys in 25 straight games in 2000-01.
    •    The Blue Devils have won 35 straight games in Cameron Indoor Stadium against ACC opponents. 
Duke has not lost an ACC contest at home since Maryland posted a 76-69 win on Feb. 17, 2008.  Coach P is 37-2 at home against ACC opponents in her six years at Duke.

Blue Devils Versus North Carolina...
    Senior Allison Vernerey has scored double-figures in five of the seven career games against the Tar Heels.  She owns averages of 8.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals. 
    Junior Richa Jackson is coming off notching 17 points at North Carolina a year ago.  She hit 7-of-9 field goals, had four rebounds and three steals.
    Chelsea Gray owns career averages of 11.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.4 steals.
    Over the last two games, Tricia Liston has averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.0 steals.  She has hit 5-of-11 treys and 12-of-19 field goals.
    Last year, Elizabeth Williams averaged 13.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two games.

Looking Back at Last Year...
    In the game last year in Chapel Hill, N.C., junior Haley Peters was hit in the mouth with an elbow in the first half and had to leave the game due to a cut in her mouth.  Peters later returned late in the second half to propel the Blue Devils to a 69-63 victory.
    Peters had to get 17 stitches inside and outside her mouth and showed incredible toughness to return to the game.  She concluded the game with nine points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes.
    The victory for Duke snapped a four-game losing streak for the Blue Devils in Chapel Hill.

Liston Off the Bench...
    Tricia Liston has come off the bench the last three games and in those contests she has averaged 17.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in an average of 21.0 minutes.
    She has hit 10-of-18 treys for a 55.6 percentage.  Liston is averaging almost a point per minute in those games as she has scored 51 points in 63 minutes.  She has been Duke’s leading scorer in two out of the last three contests.

Stealing the Show...
    Both Duke and North Carolina are two of the top teams in the nation in steals as the Tar Heels rank No. 1 with a 14.4 per game average, while Duke is fifth with a ledger of 13.4. 
    The Blue Devils have posted 10 or more steals in 17 of 20 games this year. 

Hey, I Know You...
    Blue Devil sophomore Elizabeth Williams and North Carolina senior Tierra Ruffin-Pratt both played for the Boo Williams AAU squad.

Freshman Keeps Improving...
    Freshman Alexis Jones has been coming into her own recently and netted her first career double-double on Thursday against Miami with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
    She has hit six treys the last four contests, after hitting eight three-pointers over her first 16 contests.

Undefeated in League Play...
    Duke is now 9-0 in ACC action, which is tied for the fifth-best start in ACC history.  The Blue Devils have notched undefeated 16-0 records in ACC play in 2001-02 and 2002-03, while notching an undefeated 14-0 mark in 2006-07.  Other top starts were in 13-0 (1998-99), 8-0 (2003-04 & 2011-12), 7-0 (2005-06 & 2010-11) and 6-0 (2009-10).

On the Road...
    The Blue Devils have registered a 7-1 record this season on the road and in those games, Duke has averaged 70.9 points a game.  The Blue Devils have hit 46.6 percent from the field and forced 20.4 turnovers.
    Five different Duke players are averaging double-figures on the road -- Chelsea Gray (14.4), Elizabeth Williams (13.9), Haley Peters (10.6), Tricia Liston (10.4) and Alexis Jones (10.3).

Approaching 20 Wins...
    With one more victory, Duke will register its 16th consecutive 20-win season and the 18th out of the last 19 years. Head Coach Joanne P. McCallie owns 16 different 20-win seasons over her 21-year coaching career and nine straight.
    Looking at the national scene, Tennessee owns a 36-year streak of reaching 20 wins, while Connecticut is second (19) and Duke’s 15 straight years is third.
    The ACC record for most consecutive 20-win seasons is 15 by Duke.

Against Ranked Opponents...
    Duke will play its fourth ranked opponent of the season as the Blue Devils have notched a 2-1 record on the year against ranked foes.
    Elizabeth Williams has averaged 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.7 blocks and 1.0 steals in those contests.    Haley Peters has averaged 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists. 
    Duke has hit 47.8 percent from downtown against the ranked foes this season, but has been outrebounded by a 2.0 margin.
