DURHAM, N.C.—The Blue Devil Network caught up with rising junior Kelly Cobb recently to talk about her rehab and the upcoming 2013 women’s soccer campaign.  Cobb, who is a product of Chugiak, Alaska, is coming off an injury-filled sophomore campaign.

Following the 2012 season, Cobb had knee surgery and is coming back stronger than ever.  The 5-9 forward played in only 10 games as a sophomore, after posting 11 goals, nine assists and 31 points a freshman for the Blue Devils.  When healthy, Cobb is one of the best goal-scorers in the nation.

Cobb played on the 2012 U.S. U-20 World Cup team that won the gold medal in Japan, which forced her to miss the first eight games of the season.  She dealt with knee and ankle injuries during the year that forced her to miss more games.  As a freshman, Cobb was a Soccer America All-Freshman First Team selection, Second Team All-Southeast Region honoree, All-ACC Second Team and ACC All-Freshman team selection.

Duke will open preseason practice on Wednesday, Aug. 7 as the Blue Devils prepare to open the 2013 campaign on Friday, Aug. 23 at Texas A&M.
