DURHAM, N.C.-  Duke University rising sophomore Celine Boutier will compete in the 2013 Vagliano Trophy from June 28-29 at Golf de Chantilly in France.

Since 1959, the Vagliano match has been a biennial one between teams from the Continent of Europe and Great Britain and Ireland. In 2011, a Junior Match was added for an U16's girls' team.  The Vagliano Trophy was first placed in 1931 as a match against France.

Along with Boutier on the Europe squad is Quirine Eijkenboom (Germany), Natalia Escuriola (Spain), Camilla Hedberg (Spain), Noemi Jimenez (Spain), Korolin Lampert (Germany), Nicole Larsen (Denmark) and Emily Pedersen (Denmark).

Representing the Great Britain & Ireland team will be Amy Boulden (Wales), Gabriella Cowley (England), Hayley  Davis (England), Georgia Hall (England), Becky Harries (Wales), Bronte Law (England) and Stephanie Meadow (Ireland).

The match consists of four foursomes and eight singles of 18 holes on each of the two days. The foursomes matches are played each morning and the singles in the afternoon. A win counts as one point, a half yields half a point and a lost match returns zero. In the event of a tie, the trophy shall be retained by the holders.

The 2013 ACC Rookie of the Year and Honorable Mention All-America, Boutier is coming off a season at Duke where she totaled a 73.45 stroke average to go along with four top 10 finishes.  Her 73.45 stroke average was the sixth-best single-season stroke average by a Blue Devil freshman.
