SOUTHHAMPTON, N.Y. – Duke women’s golf was represented well in the 2013 U.S. Women’s Open over the weekend as former Blue Devil standouts Brittany Lang and Lindy Duncan each carded top 15 finishes at the Sebonack Golf Club in Southhampton, N.Y.

Lang, who was a two-time All-America at Duke, turned in a tied for seventh place finish with rounds of 76, 69, 73 and 72 for a total of 290. She earned a check of $94,357, which is more than she had earned the entire 2013 season.  $87,012

Duncan, a 2013 Duke graduate, was playing in just her second event since turning professional and carded her best finish of her LPGA career as she tied for 15th.  A four-time First Team NGCA All-America with the Blue Devils, Duncan turned in rounds of 71, 73, 75 and 75 for a ledger of 294.  Over the four days, she hit 69.4 percent of her greens in regulation, which ranked tied ninth.  Duncan earned a paycheck of $54,755 for her finish.

Duncan’s previous best finish in a U.S. Open was tied for 59th in 2011.  

Taking home her third straight major victory was Inbee Park with rounds of 67, 68, 71 and 74 for a total of eight-under-par, 280.  I.K. Kim finished second with a four-under-par, 284.
