DURHAM, N.C. – Duke junior outside hitter Jeme Obeime has been selected the Ronald McDonald House Charities Duke Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Blue Devils to three victories at the 2013 Duke Invitational.
A native of Carmel, Ind., Obeime totaled a team-high 40 kills over the weekend, reaching double-digit kills in all three matches. She posted a .392 hitting percentage at the Duke Invitational while also adding 11 digs and three blocks.
Friday against Liberty, Obeime knocked down 13 kills on 18 attack attempts without committing an attack error, recording a career-best .722 hitting percentage. In Duke's second match versus Utah State, she collected 10 kills, registering just one attack error on 22 attempts.

Obeime wrapped up the weekend with 17 kills, matching her career high from last season, in Duke's four-set victory over South Carolina.
Overall, Obeime has reached double-digit kills totals five times this season and ranks second on the team with 87 kills. She is one of three Blue Devils averaing over three kills per set, joining sophomore Elizabeth Campbell and Emily Sklar.
Duke welcomes two Big Ten teams to Cameron Indoor Stadium this weekend as the Blue Devils wrap up the non-conference schedule. Duke plays host to Indiana at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 before facing Illinois Saturday, Sept. 21 also at 6:30 p.m.
