DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University juniors Sean Davis and Nat Eggleston were named to the College Sports Information Directors Association of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District III first team the organization announced this afternoon. They were two of eight ACC men’s soccer players represented across the eight districts who advance to the national ballot.

Davis, a 2012 All-ACC second team pick, has anchored Duke’s center midfield all season. He currently ranks second on the team in points with a career-high five goals and three assists. Davis, a sociology major, most recently netted a career-best two goals in the 3-0 win over Elon and has played all but 12 minutes this season.

The Holmdel, N.J., native is equally successful in the classroom as a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll choice. He also garnered All-ACC Academic Team honors in 2011. For his career, Davis has played in 46 games with 44 starts. He owns six goals and seven assists for 19 points overall.

A player of a variety of positions during his three seasons with the Blue Devils, Eggleston has helped lead Duke in the midfield as well as at center back. He has started every game this season and has played all by 53 minutes. A central defender early in the season, the Chevy Chase, Md. native helped Duke to a pair of shutouts before moving into a central midfield role.

Eggleston, a sociology major, is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection and earned ACC Academic Honor Roll recognition twice. Overall, he has played in 56 games with 51 starts and has three goals and two assists for eight points.

Duke closes its regular season schedule with a pair of ACC foes over the next two weeks. The Blue Devils travel to Pittsburgh for a Nov. 2 matchup with the Panthers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The regular season closes at Clemson, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
