DURHAM, N.C. – Looking to build on this past season’s success, head coach Chris Pollard and the Duke baseball program are set to bring in the 26th-ranked 2014 recruiting class according to Perfect Game.

Duke will release the 2014 recruiting class over the next 12 weeks, so be sure to check for weekly insights and information on the newest group of Blue Devils.

“I want to recognize the job of our recruiting coordinator Josh Jordan and our entire staff in bringing in such a tremendous signing class,” said Pollard. “Coach Jordan and Coach See have spent countless hours on the road identifying the top student-athletes in this 2014 class. Josh has established himself as one of the top recruiters in college baseball, a fact evident in the strength of our nationally-ranked recruiting classes. Undoubtedly, this class would not have come to fruition without the addition of Al Morris to our staff. He has played a vital role in the recruitment of these outstanding players.”

Pollard set a school record for the most wins by a first year coach in 2013, and the future is bright for a Blue Devil squad which returns 24-of-29 letterwinners from last year’s team. Second team All-ACC selections Andy Perez and Jordan Betts return to the Duke lineup along with all three weekend starters in Trent Swart, Drew Van Orden and Robert Huber.

Duke opens the 2014 campaign at Jack Coombs Field Feb 14-16. The Blue Devils welcome 2013 America East champion Binghamton in a three-game series to kick off the spring campaign.
