Bem-vindo from Brazil!!!

We had a very busy and exciting first day in Rio de Janeiro.

We touched down in Brazil early in the morning local time, and it was not long until we had arrived at our hotel. Upon checking in at the hotel, we were greeted with a surprise care-package. Every player received a Brazilian jersey, t-shirt, and pullover. We all look like official fans. After getting our new jerseys we went up to inspect our rooms. The view out the window of my room is a breathtaking vista of mountains and waterways. We settled into our rooms, grabbed a quick brunch, and took a short nap to recover from the jet-lag.

Next on the agenda was the Argentina vs. Bosnia/Herzegovina game. We took a bus to the train station where there were very few people.  But the trains that were passing by were packed and fans were singing and chanting on the trains.  We let a few trains pass by in hopes of finding a less crowded train, but we had no luck. We eventually squeezed into a train with rowdy Argentinian fans en route to the legendary Maracanã Stadium. Once we arrived at the stadium, we joined the queue of fans and made it into the grounds.
