CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston threw for 330 yards and accounted for four total touchdowns as the top-ranked Seminoles defeated No. 20 Duke 45-7 in the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game on Saturday evening at Bank of America Stadium.
Duke freshman Breon Borders picked off a pair of Winston passes, becoming the first player in ACC Football Championship Game history with two interceptions. Borders now has four interceptions on the year, setting the Duke freshman single-season record.
Duke managed only 239 yards of total offense and was plagued by three turnovers.
Wide receiver Jamison Crowder caught a game-high eight passes for 66 yards, breaking Duke’s single-season receiving yards record in the process. Crowder now has 1,197 receiving yards on the year. His 96 catches are also a Duke single-season record.
Running back Josh Snead scored Duke’s lone touchdown of the night on a five-yard run with just over a minute left in the game.
