DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, sat down with senior Chelsea Cook to learn more about the Overland Park, Kan., native. Name your three favorite things about being a student-athlete at Duke.
Chelsea Cook: I like all the different classes Duke has to offer. I’ve taken a lot of different classes over the years about things that really interest me. I love the family atmosphere that all the Duke athletes have and being a part of that family here. And I just really love being able to continue to play a sport that’s brought me so much joy. What is your favorite ‘on the court’ memory?
CC: My sophomore year we played Clemson at home and we won in the fifth set, 25-23. It was a really exciting game. What is your favorite ‘off the court’ memory?
CC: Usually on Monday nights when ‘The Bachelor’ or ‘The Bachelorette’ is on, we watch it together. It’s a tradition. It’s always fun. Describe head coach Jolene Nagel in three words.
CC: Caring, compassionate and motherly. What are three things you would do on a day off with no class and no practice?
CC: I would probably sleep in, go to the pool with some teammates and go out to dinner. What are three things that motivate you to perform?
CC: My teammates and being part of team. And then just being able to represent Duke on the court. Name three foods you can’t live without.
CC: I have the diet of a fifth-grader, so chicken fingers, mac and cheese and chocolate chip cookies.
