DURHAM, N.C. -- The Duke volleyball team will face 14th-seeded Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Knoxville, Tenn., on Thursday, Dec. 1.
With a win, Duke (21-8, 14-5 ACC) will face the winner of Ohio State and Middle Tennessee on Friday, Dec. 2.
Tennessee (27-3, 19-2 SEC), the Southeastern Conference champion, enters the tournament on a 12-match winning streak. Duke last faced Tennessee in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
The NCAA Tournament berth will be the seventh straight for the Blue Devils, which is an ACC record. Duke has an ACC-best 16 NCAA Tournament wins and has advanced to the tournament in 10 of 13 seasons under head coach Jolene Nagel.
Duke's roster has plenty of tournament experience, bolstered by a run to the Elite Eight during last year's tournament. Duke defeated High Point, Ohio and Missouri in the 2010 NCAA Tournament before falling 3-1 to eventual NCAA Champion Penn State in University Park, Pa.
