KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Duke volleyball team, in its ACC-record seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament berth, opens up against 14th-seeded Tennessee in Thompson-Boling Arena in the NCAA First Round on Thursday.
The Blue Devils (21-8, 15-5 ACC) and Volunteers (27-3, 19-1 SEC) square off at 7 p.m. in a rematch of the 2009 and 2006 NCAA First Rounds. Duke fell 3-1 to Tennessee in the last trip to Knoxville, but pulled out a 3-1 win in the 2006 meeting on Tennessee's home court.

A live video stream will be available for Thursday's match with a link available from the Duke volleyball schedule page. With a win, Duke would move on to the second round where it would face the winner of Ohio State and Middle Tennessee.
Duke's roster boasts plenty of NCAA Tournament experience as the senior quartet of Kellie Catanach, Sophia Dunworth, Kayla Kirk and Amanda Robertson have guided the team to NCAA berths in each of their four seasons while playing in nine NCAA matches.
Catanach was named All-ACC for the third straight year this season and was joined on the all-conference squad by junior middle blocker Christiana Gray and sophomore libero Ali McCurdy. McCurdy was also named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
Tennessee would be a difficult first-round matchup for any team in the country, however, as the Volunteers enter the tournament on a 12-match win streak. Tennessee is unbeaten on its home court this year, and its only losses are to No. 7 Illinois, No. 25 Kentucky and Houston.
