Team Notes:

•    Duke started 9-0 for the second time in the last three seasons, the 15th time under head coach Mike Krzyzewski and the 21st time in school history. The Blue Devils have started 9-0 eight times in the last 12 seasons.
•    Duke improved to 20-1 under Coach K in games played at the Meadowlands. The Blue Devils have won 11 straight at the Meadowlands dating back to a 77-75 loss to Arizona on Feb. 26, 1989. Duke is 10-0 in NCAA Tournament games and 8-1 in regular season games at the Meadowlands.
•    Duke improved to 113-16 all-time when ranked second in the country (AP poll). The win was Duke’s seventh in a row when playing as the second-ranked team.
•    Duke played its 185th straight game as a top-10 team. The Blue Devils are 155-30 during that span.
•    The win was Duke’s 103rd since the start of the 2009-10 season. Only Kentucky and Kansas have more wins than Duke during that span.
•    From the three-point line, Duke shot 60.0 percent (12-of-20). The Blue Devils hit five of their first eight three-point attempts in the game.
•    The Blue Devils broke away following a 22-8 run in the first half that turned a 13-10 lead into a 35-18 advantage. The run lasted 8:10.   
•    Duke turned a 10-point, second-half lead (49-39) to a 20-point lead (61-41) following a 12-2 run from the 17:55 mark to 13:19 mark.
•    Duke led at the half for the eighth time this season. Duke’s 46 first-half points were the team’s second most in an opening period this season, trailing only the 52 points the Blue Devils scored against Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 18, 2012.
•    The 90 points were a season high for the Blue Devils and the team’s most since a 91-73 win over Wake Forest on Jan. 19, 2012. Duke is 266-8 under Coach K when scoring 90 or more points. The Blue Devils average 80.0 points per game and have scored 80 or more points four times.
•    Temple did not shoot a single free throw in the first half despite six Duke fouls.
•    Four Blue Devils scored in double figures, led by senior Seth Curry with 23 points. Duke has had at least four double-figure scorers in eight straight games.
•    Duke recorded 19 assists on 28 made field goals, good for 67.9 percent. Duke has recorded assists on at least 60 percent of its field goals in six games this season and ranks third in the ACC with 16.0 assists per game.
•    The Blue Devils scored on 56.5 percent of their possessions and averaged 1.30 points per possession.
•    Duke’s starting five combined to score 75 of the team’s 90 points, or 83.3 percent of the team total. On the season, Duke starters combine to average 70.2 points per game, or 87.8 percent of Duke’s total scoring. Duke’s starters have scored at least 75.0 percent of the team’s total points in eight of nine games this season.
•    Seniors Seth Curry, Ryan Kelly and Mason Plumlee all scored in double figures together for the seventh time this season, combining for 53 points. Those three combine to average 46.7 points per game, which is 58.3 percent of Duke’s total scoring. Together, they have 24 double-figure scoring performances in Duke’s nine games.

Player Notes:

Quinn Cook

•    Earned his seventh straight start and scored in double figures for the fourth time this season. It was Cook’s third double-figure scoring effort in Duke’s last four games.
•    Dished out four assists to bump his season average to 5.7 per game. Since taking over Duke’s starting point guard duties seven games ago, Duke is averaging 81.6 points per game compared to 74.5 points per game in the two contests prior.
•    With Cook manning the point, Duke has had at least four double-figure scorers in eight consecutive games.
 
Seth Curry
•    Returned to the starting lineup after missing Duke’s last contest with an ankle injury and scored 23 points, his third 20-point game of the season. It was Curry’s seventh double-figure scoring game of the year.
•    Hit a season-high five three-pointers, giving him multiple three-pointers in six of his eight games. Following his 5-of-9 effort this afternoon, Curry is shooting 40.0 percent from three-point range this season.
•    Hit all four free throws to improve his free throw percentage to 89.7 percent on the year, which ranks second in the ACC.
•    Scored his 900th career point. Curry needs 89 more points to reach 1,000 for his career.

Amile Jefferson
•    Played an efficient nine minutes, contributing seven points on 3-of-5 shooting with two rebounds, one assist and one block.
•    Converted a three-point play for the second straight game.

Ryan Kelly
•    Drew his ninth straight start and scored in double figures for the eighth straight game.
•    Recorded his third career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
•    Added his team-leading 19th block of the season. Kelly has a block in six consecutive games and is averaging 2.1 blocks per game.

Alex Murphy
•    Scored five points in five minutes of play. Murphy hit his lone three-point attempt and shot 2-of-4 from the field.

Mason Plumlee
•    Made his 73rd start at Duke. Plumlee has started 60 of Duke’s last 63 games.
•    Scored at least 16 points for the 10th consecutive game, dating back to the final game of the 2012 season.
•    Added to his Duke record dunks total with two dunks, giving him 152 for his four-year career.
•    Recorded his ACC-leading sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and 14 rebounds. It was Plumlee’s 24th career double-double, which is the most among active ACC players, and his fifth double-double in Duke’s last six games.
•    Increased his career points total to 942 and his career rebound total to 828. Plumlee needs just 58 more points and 172 more rebounds to become the ninth player in school history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds and the third with 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 150 blocks.
•    Scored 10 points in the first half, giving him double-digit scoring in 10 of Duke’s 18 halves this season and at least one double-figure scoring half in eight of Duke’s nine games.
•    Shot 5-of-14 (.357) from the floor to end a streak of shooting over 50 percent from the field at 14 consecutive games.

Rasheed Sulaimon
•    Earned his ninth consecutive start and scored eight points, bumping his scoring average to 12.3 points per game.
•    Hit a three-pointer for the ninth straight game.
•    Registered a team-high seven assists without committing a turnover. Sulaimon owns a 2.08:1 assist-to-turnover ratio in his first season, which leads the team.
•    Recorded two rebounds for the third consecutive game, bumping his rebounding average at 4.0 rebounds per game. That ranks as the highest mark in the ACC among players under 6-foot-5.

Tyler Thornton
•    Played 18 turnover-free minutes while contributing two assists and three points. Thornton has 12 assists and three turnovers over his last two games.
