DURHAM, N.C. – Duke wide receiver Jamison Crowder was named to the watch list for the Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Year award, the organization announced Friday. He is one of seven wide receivers on the 50-player list.

Crowder, a 5-9, 175-pound senior from Monroe, N.C., enters the 2014 season as one of the nation’s top receivers and most versatile players. He earned Preseason All-America honors from Athlon Sports, Phil Steele, Sporting News and USA Today both as a wide receiver and a punt returner. He has also received watch list recognition from the Maxwell Award as the nation’s top player, the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver and the Hornung Award as the nation’s most versatile player.

Crowder totaled 13 touchdowns and 1,832 all-purpose yards (130.9 per game) in 2013 on the way to All-America second team honors as a punt returner and All-ACC first team recognition at wide receiver. He broke the ACC record with 108 receptions in Duke’s 14 games while totaling 1,360 receiving yards, nine receiving touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and two punt return scores with an average of 16.0 yards per return as Duke went 10-4, won the ACC Coastal Division and appeared in both the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship game and the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Pegged as the nation’s top deep threat by Sporting News and cited as having the best hands in the ACC by Lindy’s Sports and Sporting News, Crowder enters his senior campaign as the only active player among the Big 5 conferences to have posted 1,000 or more receiving yards in each of the past two seasons. His 1,360 receiving yards in 2013 rank as the most of any returning receiver this season, while he also leads all active NCAA receivers with nine career touchdowns receptions of 50 or more yards.

Crowder and the Blue Devils open the 2014 campaign against Elon on Aug. 30 at Wallace Wade Stadium. To order tickets, call (919) 681-BLUE or visit www.GoDuke.com/footballtix.
