2012-13: During the fall, clocked 19:39 over 6K to take fifth in the Duke-NC Central dual … came in fourth at the Great American Cross Country Festival with a season-best time of 25:21.0 for 8K … competed in the unseeded race at the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet, finishing 65th at 25:26.8 … also represented Duke at the ACC Cross Country Championships, crossing the line in 25:39.4 to place 67th...did not compete during the indoor season…Outdoors, ran a personal-best time of 31:17.93 in the 10,000 meter to finish fifth at the Duke Invitational…competed in his first ACC Outdoor Championships, finishing 15th with a time of 31:44.40.
2011-12: Ran 26:16.7 for 8K at the James Madison Invitational to start the cross country season...was Duke's second man at the Great American Cross Country Festival, taking third overall in a personal-best time of 25:16.3...indoors, ran a personal best 9:02.42 in the 3,000m at the Gene Anderson Invite...outdoors, competed in both the 5,000m and 10,000m...ran a personal-best 31:34.51 in the 10,000m at the Duke Invitational....finished 23rd at the ACC Outdoor Championships...named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2010-11: Ran a personal-best 26:02.6 over 8K at the Great American Cross Country Festival...clocked 26:33.3 at the IC4A Championships to help Duke capture its third consecutive IC4A title...did not compete during the indoor season...outdoors, competed in the 5,000m and 10,000m events...clocked a season-best 31:46.23 in the 10,000m at the Raleigh Relays to finish 17th.
Prior to Duke: Lettered four years at Spruce Creek...three-time all-conference cross country first team selection...two-time cross country team captain...named to the US Elite Cross Country second team...also lettered two years in tennis...was the fifth-ranked singles player...had an undefeated regular season record.
Personal: Son of Ashraf and Mona Elsakr...born Oct. 18, 1990...has one sister, Sarah, who attends Duke...majoring in biomedical engineering with a minor in chemistry.
