NEW YORK – Duke makes a return trip to Madison Square Garden this Thursday to take on UCLA in the Carquest Auto Parts Classic. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN.
No. 8 Duke (8-2) and UCLA (9-1) will square off for the 16th time to renew a rivalry that has not been played since Nov. 30, 2002. Duke is 9-6 all-time against the Bruins, while the programs have combined for 15 NCAA Championships, 3,711 wins and a .700 winning percentage.
The game will be Duke’s third at Madison Square Garden this season, as the Blue Devils defeated Alabama in the NIT Season Tip-Off on Nov. 27 and fell to No. 4 Arizona in the championship game on Nov. 29. Duke has won both games since the Arizona loss, taking down No. 22 Michigan, 79-69, and Gardner-Webb, 85-66.
