Duke to Appear Twice on ESPN's Big Monday

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke will appear twice on ESPN Big Monday presented by Verizon broadcasts this season as announced by the network Monday. The Blue Devils square off in a home contest with Pittsburgh Jan. 19 before traveling to Florida State Feb. 9 for their second Big Monday appearance.

Duke is 2-0 in ESPN Big Monday play after posting wins over Virginia and Pittsburgh a year ago.

Eight ACC games will be broadcast on Mondays between Jan. 5 and March 2. Each game is set for a 7 p.m. start and will be televised nationally by ESPN. Big Monday takes a one week hiatus as ESPN debuts the inaugural College Football National Championship game on January 12.

All games will be available through WatchESPN, accessible online at, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members and on Apple TV to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

Overall, ESPN networks will offer more than 100 games from both conferences during the 2014-15 season. Full conference schedules will be announced at a later date. ESPN’s 2013-14 season was the most-viewed and highest-rated regular season ever.

Jan. 19 - Pittsburgh at No. 2 Duke (ESPN)
Jan. 26 - No. 21 Syracuse at No. 6 North Carolina (ESPN)
Feb. 2 - No. 7 Virginia at No. 6 North Carolina (ESPN)
Feb. 9 - No. 2 Duke at Florida State (ESPN)
Feb. 16 - Pittsburgh at No. 7 Virginia (ESPN)
Feb. 23 - No. 8 Louisville at Georgia Tech (ESPN)
March 2 - No. 7 Virginia at No. 21 Syracuse (ESPN)

Noting the ACC on ESPN's Big Monday
• Every game on the Big Monday schedule features at least one team ranked in the men’s preseason top 25 poll.|
• A potential of three ACC top-25 matchups showcasing No. 6 North Carolina, No. 7 Virginia and No. 21 Syracuse: Syracuse at North Carolina on January 26; Virginia at North Carolina on February 2 and Virginia at Syracuse on March 2.
• Duke – ranked preseason No. 2 – is on the schedule twice: at home vs. Pittsburgh on January 19 and at Florida State on February 9.
• North Carolina’s one additional appearance is an opening night tilt vs. Notre Dame on January 5.
• Virginia is also scheduled against Pittsburgh on February 16, as part of Rivalry Week.
• New league member Louisville, ranked No. 8 in the preseason poll, has one appearance – at Georgia Tech on February 23.
• The ACC Big Monday lineup features college basketball’s two all-time winningest coaches in Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski and Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim, and the top four active winningest coaches in Krzyzewski, Boeheim, North Carolina’s Roy Williams and Louisville's Rick Pitino.
