The Opening Tip
• Duke is ranked No. 5 in both the AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. VCU is unranked in both polls.
• The Blue Devils are 4-0 and looking to improve to 5-0 for the sixth straight season.
• Duke reached the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis with an 89-71 win over Minnesota on Thursday. Mason Plumlee scored 20 points and matched a career-high with 17 rebounds in the win over the Golden Gophers.
Seth Curry scored a season-high 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, including 3-of-3 from three-point range.
Quinn Cook posted career-high in points (17), steals (5) and minutes (31) in the win over Minnesota. He also added four assists while knocking down 3-of-4 three-point attempts.
Ryan Kelly (14) and Rasheed Sulaimon (11) also scored in double-figures as Duke had all five starters score 10 or more points in a game for the first time since Dec. 30, 2011.
• The Blue Devils have won 21 consecutive regular-season tournament games, dating back to the title game of the 2006 CBE Classic.

Duke-VCU Series
• Duke fell to VCU, 79-77, in the opening round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament in the only previous meeting between the two schools.
• Duke assistant coach Jeff Capel was the head coach at VCU from 2003-2006. He posted a 79-41 record at the helm of the Ram program.

Duke vs. A-10 Opponents
• Duke is 82-29 all-time against teams currently in the Atlantic 10.
Mike Krzyzewski is 36-3 at Duke versus teams that are currently in the A-10 conference.

Numbers Game
• Duke, ranked No. 5 in the latest AP Poll, has been ranked in the top 10 of the poll 96 consecutive weeks. The last time Duke was not ranked in the top 10 was Nov. 19, 2007.
• Duke is 70-24 all-time when ranked No. 5 in the country. The Blue Devils have won six straight games when holding the fifth spot in the AP poll.
• The Blue Devils are playing their 181st straight game as a top 10 team in the AP poll. Duke is 150-30 in that span.
• Duke has won 53 of its last 54 games in the month of November dating back to the start of the 2004-05 season.
• The Blue Devils have won 40 of their last 45 nonconference contests. Duke is 72-9 in non-league games since the start of the 2008-09 season.
• Duke is 38-4 in neutral site contests since the start of the 2008-09 season. The Blue Devils have won one NCAA Championship, three ACC titles and four in-season tournaments in that span.
Mason Plumlee has scored 18 or more points in each of his last five games dating back to last season, including a 20-point effort on Thursday against Minnesota. He is averaging 20.8 points per game, while shooting 76.5 percent (39-of-51) from the floor and 74.3 percent (26-of-35) from the foul line in that span.
• Seniors Seth Curry, Mason Plumlee and Ryan Kelly have accounted for 62.7 percent of Duke’s offensive output through four games. The trio is averaging 51.1 points per game this season.
Mason Plumlee has shot 50.0 percent or better from the field in each of the past 10 games dating back to last season. Plumlee is 57-of-83 (.687) from the field, including 30-of-42 (.714) in the last four games, during that stretch.
Seth Curry has made at least one three-point field goal in 18 straight games. He is 11-of-23 from three-point range on the season and currently ranks fourth in the Duke record books with a .412 three-point field goal percentage (139-of-337). Curry has made three or more three-pointers in a game three times this season and 27 times in his Duke career.
• Freshman Rasheed Sulaimon has scored in double-figures in three straight games, averaging 13.3 points per game in that span.
Quinn Cook entered the starting lineup prior to the Florida Gulf Coast game and is averaging 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists over the last two contests. He is 5-of-8 (.625) from three-point range in that span and 8-of-14 (.571) from behind the arc on the year.
• With 17 rebounds in the win over Minnesota, Mason Plumlee now ranks 19th at Duke with 768 career boards. He is two rebounds shy of passing Grant Hill and nine boards shy of passing Jeff Mullins in the Duke record books.
Mason Plumlee and Seth Curry combine to average 39.6 points per game. Both players have reached double-figures in scoring in all four games, while also topping the 20-point mark two times apiece.
• Duke has 98 wins since the start of the 2009-10 season. Only Kentucky, Kansas and Ohio State have more wins over the span.
• Duke is 94-13 with Ryan Kelly in the lineup. He currently ranks fifth at Duke in career winning percentage.
• The Blue Devils are 131-25 in neutral site games since 1998.
