Duke 80, Pitt 65

Team Notes:
•    Duke won its fifth game in a row and second straight ACC road game to improve to 17-4 overall and 6-2 in the conference. The 15-point win was Duke’s fourth straight double-figure victory and the fifth straight game Duke has held the opposition under 70 points.
•    Duke had a 20-point scorer for the 17th time in 21 games, as Jabari Parker scored 21 and Andre Dawkins scored 20. The 20-point game was the 12th of the season for Parker – a new Duke freshman record – while it was the second this year for Dawkins. Duke has had at least two 20-point scorers six times this season.
•    Duke scored 20 second-chance points, marking the third straight game – and fourth time this season – that Duke has gotten at least 20 points on second-chance opportunities. Duke hauled in 11 offensive rebounds on the night, including six by Amile Jefferson.
•    Pitt entered the game with an ACC-leading +9.2 rebounding margin per game, but Duke outrebounded the Panthers 37-32. Duke is only the sixth team to outrebound Pittsburgh this season and the first to do so since NC State logged a +6 margin in their ACC opener.
•    Since being outrebounded by a combined 21 boards in back-to-back games against Clemson and Virginia, Duke has now outrebounded four straight opponents by an average of 11.3 rebounds per game.
•    Duke hit a season-high 13-of-25 (.520) three-pointers to log its third highest three-point percentage of the season and highest in ACC play. Five Blue Devils hit a trey, including Andre Dawkins who hit 6-of-7. Dawkins’ .857 clip from three-point range tied the school record held by five other Blue Devils.
•    Duke used the starting lineup of Rodney Hood, Amile Jefferson, Jabari Parker, Rasheed Sulaimon and Tyler Thornton for the first time this season. Cook, who had started Duke’s first 20 games, snapped a streak of 54 consecutive starts.
•    Following a Rodney Hood three-pointer with less than a minute remaining in the first half, Duke carried a 34-32 lead into halftime. Duke has held a lead at the break in 20 of 21 games this season and has yet to trail at halftime this season.
•    Duke played its 239th consecutive game as a ranked team. The Blue Devils are 198-40 (.831) during that run, which began at the start of the 2007-08 season.

Player Notes:

Quinn Cook
•    Snapped a streak of 54 consecutive starts. Cook came off the bench to play 27 minutes, contributing nine points and six assists in his first game nt in the starting lineup since the start of the 2012-13 season.
•    Hit a three-pointer in the 17th straight game and finished 1-of-3 from three-point range. Cook’s 17-game streak is the second longest on the team, trailing only the 18-game tear by Rodney Hood.
•    Shook off a slow start in the first half to score seven points and dish five assists – with just one turnover – in the second half.

Andre Dawkins
•    Sank 20 points off the bench, hitting 6-of-7 shots from three-point range on the way to his second 20-point game of the season. Dawkins’ .857 three-point percentage tied the school single-game record held by five others, most recently Seth Curry (vs. Georgia Tech, Jan. 17, 2013).
•    Scored in double figures for the 10th time this season and 40th time in his career. Dawkins has scored in double figures in seven of his past 12 games.
•    Duke improved to 11-0 this season when Dawkins scores in double figures.

Rodney Hood
•    Scored in double figures for the 19th time in 21 games and extended a streak of nine straight double-figure scoring games. Hood poured in 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field while also logging four assists.
•    Hit a three-pointer in the 18th straight game, the longest active streak on the team. Hood finished 3-of-7 from three-point range and is shooting an ACC-leading .448 (43-of-96) from three-point range this season.
•    Led the team with 35 minutes played, including all 20 in the second half.

Amile Jefferson
•    Recorded his second career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The double-digit scoring performance was his fifth of the season as was his double-digit rebound performance.
•    Grabbed at least six rebounds for the 13th straight game, a streak in which he leads Duke with 8.8 rebounds per game.
•    Scored 10 of his points in the second half, hitting all four field goal attempts. Jefferson finished a perfect 5-of-5 for the game to increase his team-leading field goal percentage to .655 (57-of-87).
•    Hauled in a team-leading six offensive rebounds, marking the 11th time in the past 12 games he has multiple offensive rebounds.

Jabari Parker
•    Broke the Duke freshman record for 20-point games, logging his 12th with 21 points. The 12 20-point games surpass the previous record of 11 set by Gene Banks in 1977-78.
•    Logged his ACC-leading seventh double-double of the season, adding 11 rebounds to his point total. Parker’s seven double-doubles rank as the third most by a Duke freshman, while his seven double-figure rebounding games rank fourth on the freshman list.

Marshall Plumlee
•    Played more than 10 minutes for the fourth time in the past five games, contributing four rebounds, one assist and one block. Plumlee played more than 10 minutes just twice in his previous 12 games.
