DURHAM, N.C. -- Incoming Duke freshman Tyus Jones and Justise Winslow combined for 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting to go along with seven assists and five steals to help lead Team USA to a dominating 156-58 win over Uruguay in its opening game at the 2014 FIBA Americas Championship. Luke Kennard led 10 different double-figure scorers for the U.S. team with a game-high 30 points in the lopsided victory at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Jones, a three-time Gatorade Minnesota Player of the Year, started at the point guard position and finished with seven points, three rebounds, six asissts and four steals in just over 14 minutes of action. He was 3-of-6 from the field, while making his only three-point field goal attempt.

Winslow went 6-of-8 from the field with a pair of threes en route o a 15-point night. He also added two rebounds, one assist, one steal and a block in just over 13 minutes of play.

Jones and Winslow are veterans with USA Basketball with both players having won a pair of gold medals.  

Kennard came off the bench to knock down seven three-point field goals finishing two treys shy of the USA Basketball U18 record set by former Duke guard Austin Rivers in 2010. He finished 10-of-15 from the field, including 7-of-12 from three-point range, in addition to adding two rebounds, four assists and four steals. He became the fourth player in U18 tournament play to top the 30-point plateau.

Other double figure scorers for Team USA included: Myles Turner (15), Allonzo Trier (14), Chase Jeter (14), Stephen Zimmerman (13), Stanley Johnson (11), Jaylen Brunson (11), Jabari Brown (11) and Tyler Lydon (10). Brunson also had a game-high 13 assists in the win.

Argentina topped Mexico, 87-72, in other day one action from Colorado Springs, while Canada thumped Brazil, 101-59, and the Dominican Republic topped Puerto Rico ,74-72.
