Team Notes:

  • Duke's eight-game winning streak came to an end with a 77-72 loss to Maryland. It was the Blue Devils' first loss since Jan. 30 when they fell to Georgetown, 89-77.
  • Maryland is just the fifth team to shoot 50 percent or better against the Blue Devils this season. The Terps shot .462 (6-of-13) from behind the three-point line while entering the game Duke's opponents had shot just .196 (21-of-107) from deep in the previous eight games.
  • Duke shot under 40 percent from the floor for just the seventh time this season.
  • The Blue Devils made 10 three-point field goals, the ninth game this year they have made 10 or more treys.
  • Duke committed fewer than 10 turnovers for the third straight game and eighth game this season.

Player Notes:

Miles Plumlee

  • Sophomore Miles Plumlee attempted and made his first career three-point field goal in the first half.

Jon Scheyer

  • Senior Jon Scheyer has started in 37 consecutive games and in 98 career contests.
  • Scheyer extended his streak to 23 consecutive games with a made three-point field goal and leads the team with 86 treys this season. He has made three or more in eight straight games and 19 overall contests this season.
  • Scheyer recorded his 105th career game with 10 or more points. The 105 double-figure scoring games ranks tied for ninth all-time at Duke with Danny Ferry. He has scored in double figures in 29 of the 30 games on the year.
  • With two assists Scheyer became the 12th player in school history with 400 career assists as he now has 401 in his four years.
  • The two steals move Scheyer into a tie for 10th on the school's career steals list with Thomas Hill and Sean Dockery.
  • For the sixth game this season, Scheyer pulled down at least five rebounds.

Kyle Singler

  • Junior Kyle Singler earned his 100th career start against Maryland, becoming the 21st Duke player with 100 or more career starts. Singler extended his consecutive starts streak to 58 games, the longest current streak on the team.
  • Singler reached double figures in scoring for the 27th time this season.
  • Now has 11 games this season with at least one point, rebound, assist, blocked shot and steal and has accomplished the feat in 42 career games.
  • Singler played all 40 minutes for the sixth time this year.

Nolan Smith

  • Junior Nolan Smith received his 50th career start in Wednesday's game and has started in all 28 games he has played in this season.
  • Smith scored a team-high 20 points, giving him 13 games this season with 20 or more. He has scored at least 20 points in eight of the 15 conference games on the year. He tallied his 26th game this season with 10 or more points and has 49 career double-figure scoring games.
  • With two steals, Smith now has 10 games this season with two or more steals.

Brian Zoubek

  • Senior Brian Zoubek earned his sixth consecutive start and is averaging 7.2 points and 11.0 rebounds as a starter.
  • Zoubek recorded his team-high eighth game this season with at least 10 rebounds, notching 13 boards in the game. He now has 10 career double-figure rebounding games.
  • The 13 rebounds give Zoubek 504 in his career as he becomes the 43rd player at Duke with at least 500 boards.
  • Six of Zoubek's 13 rebounds were on the offensive end of the floor, marking the eighth game this year he has hauled in five or more offensive rebounds.
  • Zoubek added two steals in the game, giving him three games this season with two or more steals.
