Lindy Duncan of the Duke women’s golf team is set to appear in her fifth career Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour event when she begins play at the 2013 Kraft Nabisco Championship at the Mission Hills Country Club April 4-7. A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Duncan owns a 72.3 stroke average this season, while tallying two top-five finishes, highlighted by a second place finish at the Cougar Classic, where she carded rounds of 69, 70 and 68 to post a nine-under par, 207. The 2012 PING NGCA National Player of the Year became the fourth Blue Devil to win the Golfstat Cup last season with a 71.07 average, and was named a first team All-America during each of her first three seasons in Durham.
Duncan has appeared in four career LPGA events, including the 2008 LPGA Ginn Open, the 2009 and 2011 U.S. Opens and the 2012 Jamie Farr Toledo Classic. At the 2011 U.S. Open, Duncan carded rounds of 70, 78, 78 and 76 to finish tied for 59th, her best finish in those events.
Following practice rounds Monday through Wednesday, the first round of play will begin Thursday, April 4 at the par-72, 6,738 yard Dinah Shore Tournament Course at the Mission Hills Country Club and will continue with the second round Friday, April 5.
