DURHAM, N.C. - Josh McRoberts, DeMarcus Nelson and Jon Scheyer were all honored with All-ACC accolades Monday by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.  McRoberts was named second team All-ACC and to the All-Defensive team while Nelson earned honorable mention status for both All-ACC and All-Defensive team and Scheyer was named to the All-Freshman team.

In addition Monday, Nelson was named to the 12th annual Fan's Guide All-Defensive team voted on by the league's coaches.

McRoberts ranks among the ACC leaders in scoring (24th - 12.6 ppg.), rebounds (third – 7.8 rpg.), blocks (second – 2.48 bpg.) and minutes played (35.10 mpg). He is the team leader with a 1.46:1 assist-to-turnover ratio and also second in assists (3.5 apg.) and tied for third in steals (37). McRoberts is the only player in the country averaging over 10.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 blocks per game.

Duke has had at least one player on the first or second team for each of the last 33 seasons dating back to 1975 and 53 times in the league's 54 years of existence.  He is the first sophomore to earn as high as second team honors since J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams both did so in 2004.  Jason Williams was the last Duke player to earn first-team honors as a sophomore, doing so in 2001.

Nelson ranks 17th in the ACC in scoring (14.2 ppg), tied for 19th in rebounding (5.3 rpg.) and eighth in field goal percentage (.481). He also has a team-high 44 steals and is third on the team in assists (63) and blocks (16). Nelson's selection to the coaches defensive team gives the Blue Devils 11 consecutive years with at least selection on the team and in the dozen years of the team's existence, Duke has a league best 17 selections to the team, eight more than any other team in the ACC.

Scheyer is averaging 12.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, while shooting 36.3 percent from three-point range and a team-best 84.6 percent from the free throw line. He is the fifth-leading freshman scorer in the league and eighth among all players in three-point field goals (1.84 pg.).  Scheyer's selection gives Duke a total of 14 selections to the freshman team in 12 different seasons.  The freshman team began in 1993.
