PARIS – Following a seven and a half hour flight from Newark on Monday evening, the Duke women’s basketball team arrived in France on Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m., which was 1:00 a.m., East Coast time. The DWB European Tour was officially under way.
The Blue Devils pushed through the urge to take a nap and went straight on a bus tour in Paris. Along the way, members of the traveling party were able to see the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Place de la Concorde, The Louvre, The Opera National de Paris, Musée d'Orsay and Alexander III bridge.
In the afternoon, some of the team members took a brief nap before heading out on the Paris streets to sightsee and eat some food. The team will have a group dinner together.
Due to inclement weather, the boat tour on the Seine River will be moved to Thursday, Aug. 16.
On the agenda for Wednesday will be game one against BC Franconville at 4:00 p.m. The Blue Devils will have some time in the morning to sightsee before heading to the contest. The game will be played at the Gymnase CSL.
