DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior Chloe Wells to learn more about the Colton, Calif., native.
GoDuke.com: Who is someone you model your game after?
Chloe Wells: I’m gonna say AI (Allen Iverson) because he was fast, he had good handle so he could create for his teammates, he could create his own shot, and he was little but he was tough. He had heart.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
CW: Oxtails, rice and gravy. I like it smothered and nice and juicy.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite part of being a Duke student-athlete?
CW: Just being a part of something that’s bigger than myself and having that ability to impact this program that hasn’t gotten a championship. And leaving here with a Duke degree is something that not many people can say they’ve done.
GoDuke.com: What song do you like to listen to before a game?
CW: The song, This is It, by Kirk Franklin. It just says, this is it. You gotta go all out.
GoDuke.com: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
CW: Probably patience. Jim Sabistan, before he passed away, would always tell me to be patient with my body, because I had some injuries, and also just, ‘stay hungry’ from my dad. He just always taught us to go get it no matter what, and I’ve been through a lot so that’s really sound advice.
GoDuke.com: Do you have any hidden talents?
CW: I can play golf, I can dance, and I can shop with the best of ‘em!
GoDuke.com: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met at Duke?
CW: Probably Coach Brown. He’s a very genuine person, always a pleasure.
