The seventh-ranked Duke women’s basketball team (23-3, 10-2 ACC) will conclude a three-game homestand against its third straight top-14 ranked opponent on Thursday, Feb. 20 as the Blue Devils host 14th-ranked N.C. State (22-4, 9-3) at 6:30 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium … The contest will be aired live on ESPN2 and ESPN3 with Ryan Craig (PXP) and Debbie Taylor (Color) calling the action … It will also be carried live on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network on WDNC-AM 620 with Steve Barnes (PXP) and Morgan Patrick (Color) on the air … Duke is in the last stage of a three-game homestand against three top-14 ranked opponents -- North Carolina (No. 13), Maryland (No. 8) and N.C. State (No. 14) … The Blue Devils are in a span where they will play three ranked foes in seven days.
Duke will take part in the “Play4Kay” initiative for the second straight contest. The Blue Devils will wear white uniforms with pink trim for both contests … All fans that wear pink to the N.C. State game will get in for only $4 … The first 2,500 fans will receive a pink, Duke buff that can be used as a head band, head wrap, wrist band or rally towel … There will also be a silent auction in the Hall of Honor to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund … Also, it will be Triangle Day where all local fans will be able to get in for $4 … The “Play4Kay” initiative is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond … The official charity is the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in partnership with The V Foundation and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) … The Kay Yow Cancer Fund will have a table set up in the Hall of Honor selling merchandise for both games.
The Series with NC State
Duke and N.C. State will meet for the 74th time in school history with the Wolfpack leading the series, 39-34 … The Blue Devils have won 18 of the last 20 contests in the series … The Blue Devils own a 17-15 mark in games played in Cameron Indoor Stadium, including winners of 12 in a row … Coach Joanne P.
