DENVER, Colo. – Duke University women’s basketball signee Alexis Jones concluded her all-star tour this weekend as she played in the WBCA All-America Game at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo.
Jones, who attended Irving MacArthur H.S., in Texas, started for the Navy team and scored 11 points, had four rebounds, four assists, one blocked shot and one steal in a team-high 33 minutes. The White team ended the contest on top with a 74-62 victory.
The 5-8 guard also competed in the McDonald’s All-America game earlier in the week as she totaled nine points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal. She hit four field goals, including one three-pointer on the night.
Jones will join fellow incoming freshmen Sierra Moore and Katie Heckman as rookies in 2012-13 for Duke. The Blue Devils also return 10 letterwinners and four starters next season as two-time ACC Coach of the Year Joanne P. McCallie will enter her sixth year at Duke.
