DURHAM, N.C. – The 2012 Parade Magazine All-America selections have been released with two Duke incoming freshmen -- Alexis Jones and Sierra Moore -- receiving accolades.  

Jones, who is out of Irving MacArthur H.S., in Texas, averaged 22.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 4.4 steals as a senior.  She is a two-time Gatorade Texas Girls Basketball Player of the Year.  Jones competed in the McDonald’s All-America game as she totaled nine points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 21 minutes.  She also posted 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and one blocked shot in the WBCA All-America contest. 

A product of Delone Catholic H.S., in Pa., Moore was a 2012 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Pennsylvania, after averaging 24.7 points, 3.9 assists, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.2 blocks as a senior.  She posted six points, three rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in the McDonald’s All-America contest.  Moore was the Associated Press Player of the Year for Class AA in the state of Pennsylvania, a four-time Gettysburg Times All-Area Player of the Year and Evening Sun All-Area Player of the Year.  She compiled 2,595 points and 1,031 rebounds over her career. 

Both Jones and Moore will join the Blue Devils for summer school starting in July.
