DURHAM, N.C. – The Associated Press released its 2013-14 All-America selections on Tuesday with Duke standouts Tricia Liston and Elizabeth Williams earning accolades, following a vote of the Associated Press writers.

With the Blue Devil duo earning honors, it marks the second straight year Duke has featured two student-athletes on the AP teams as Chelsea Gray and Williams were selected last season.  Williams has become the first Duke player to earn Associated Press All-America accolades in each of her first three seasons and only the second Blue Devil to be named three times (Alana Beard).

Liston, who is out of River Forest, Ill., had a breakout season in her final year with the Blue Devils averaging a team-high 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists.  She collected 16 games with 20 or more points and her 48.1 three-point field goal percentage ranked second nationally.  The 6-1 guard hit 52.5 percent of her field goals and 85.2 percent from the charity stripe on the season.

On the season, Liston drained a school-record 87 three-pointers and concluded her outstanding career with a school-record 252 treys, which also ranks tied seventh on the ACC all-time charts.  She was a First Team All-ACC selection by both the Blue Ribbon Panel and the league head coaches, while also earning All-ACC Tournament First Team accolades and being a finalist for the John R. Wooden Award.  Liston was a midseason candidate for the Naismith and Wade Watch list.

A product of Virginia Beach, Va., Williams had another solid season for the Blue Devils averaging 13.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.1 blocks, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals on the year.  Her 3.1 blocks per game average led the ACC and ranked 13th nationally.  A three-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year selection, Williams led Duke with seven double-doubles and posted a career-best 52.6 field goal percentage.

Williams became just the seventh player in ACC history to be named Associated Press All-America on three different occasions – Alana Beard (Duke), Alyssa Thomas (Maryland), Crystal Langhorne (Maryland), Ivory Latta (UNC), Skylar Diggins (Notre Dame) and Ruth Riley (Notre Dame).

The 6-3 center collected over 100 blocks for the third year in a row as she swatted 108 on the year.  She has 331 blocks over her three years at Duke.  Other honors Williams received were All-ACC First Team, All-ACC Defensive Team, Naismith and John R. Wooden Award Midseason Candidate for National Player of the Year, All-ACC Tournament First Team, All-ACC Academic Team, Paradise Jam All-Tournament and a CoSIDA Academic All-District III selection.

Included on the first team were Chiney Ogwumike (Stanford), Odyssey Sims (Baylor), Breanna Stewart (UConn), Kayla McBride (Notre Dame) and Alyssa Thomas (Maryland).  Bria Hartley (UConn), Jewell Loyd (Notre Dame), Shoni Schimmel (Louisville), Stefanie Dolson (UConn) and Jordan Hooper (Nebraska) were named to the second team.

Along with Liston and Williams on the third team were Tiffany Mitchell (South Carolina), Maggie Lucas (Penn State) and Natalie Achonwa (Notre Dame).

Gray, a senior from Manteca, Calif., earned honorable mention accolades, after she was injured in her 17th game of the season with a fractured kneecap.  She averaged 10.8 points, 7.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 steals.

Duke (28-7) concluded its season on Monday, March 24 in the NCAA Second Round with a 74-65 loss to 23rd-ranked DePaul.  It snapped a four-year streak of advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight for the Blue Devils.
