DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke University is committed to providing accessible seats for our fans with disabilities who attend basketball games at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Effective at the start of the 2013-14 Men’s and Women’s Basketball seasons, Duke University has issued a new policy requiring fans who have purchased tickets for conventional seats and wish to exchange them for available accessible seats to pre-register for accessible seating. There are a limited number of accessible seats available in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Special accommodations will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis prior to game day. No special accommodations or ticket exchanges will be allowed on game day.
Steps to acquire accessible seating at a Men’s or Women’s Basketball game:
Step 1 – Patrons must first purchase or possess a ticket.
Step 2 – General Public and Iron Dukes - All special accommodations for accessible seating for Iron Dukes and the General Public must be made in advance of game day by contacting the Duke Ticket Office at 919-681-2583. Reservations for accessible seating will end at 4:30 PM on the business day prior to game day. Please note that for Sunday games, reservations for accessible seating will end at 4:30 PM on Friday prior to game day.
Duke University Undergraduate & Graduate Students – All special accommodations for accessible seating for Duke University Undergraduate and Graduate Students must be made in advance of game day by contacting the Duke Disability Management Office at 919-668-6213. Reservations for accessible seating for students will end at 4:00 PM three (3) days prior to game day.
Step 3 – The Duke Ticket Office or Duke Disability Management Office will determine if the patron needs space for an assistive device (i.e. wheelchair) and if they have a companion.
Step 4 – For ticket holders, the Duke Ticket Office will require verification of the purchased tickets before completing the request. For current undergraduate, graduate and professional students the Duke Disability Management Office will verify enrollment. Upon confirmation, and if there is adequate space available, the name of the individual will be placed on the Disability Seating Request List. The ticket holder will receive a confirmation email finalizing the process if space is available.
Step 5 – The Disability Seating Request List, copies of verified tickets and the required disability seating tickets will be provided to a Staff One Security Guard at the disability entrance (far right door of the South Lobby entrance to Cameron Indoor Stadium) on game day when a Staff One Guard will assist fans with disability seating tickets to their location (when doors open one hour prior to tip-off.)
