DURHAM, N.C. - Junior Tricia Liston scored 18 points and classmate Chelsea Gray added 17 to lead all players in the Duke women's basketball team's annual Blue/White Scrimmage Sunday in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Assistant coach Joy Cheek directed the Blue Devils through four 10-minute quarters of play against the program's scout squad, which was overseen by assistant coach Candice M. Jackson.

Liston and Gray connected on three treys each and combined for 12 of Duke's 36 rebounds in the game, while Gray also registered a team-high eight assists and four steals. Fellow junior Haley Peters contributed 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and hauled in three boards.

"This was a great scrimmage for us that really brought together a lot of things, much like an ACC game," said head coach Joanne P. McCallie. "It was a great opportunity to get experience playing together as a group, ... [but] we have got to get better to play at the highest level."

Several other Blue Devil returners turned in strong performances in the scrimmage, with senior Allison Vernerey totaling eight points on 4-for-5 shooting from the field. Sophomore Elizabeth Williams collected five points and four rebounds, in addition to recording two blocks in limited minutes, and classmate Ka'lia Johnson added two points, six rebounds and four assists.

Freshmen Alexis Jones and Sierra Moore made their debuts in Cameron Sunday, displaying what they will bring to the 2012-13 edition of the team. Jones scored six points on 3-for-6 shooting from the floor and pulled down three boards, including two on the defensive end, while Moore added two rebounds and was also impressive defensively, grabbing two steals.

As a team, Duke shot 43.5 percent from the floor and hit 7-of-18 shots from behind the arc. The squad was also solid from the charity stripe, recording an 88.9 free throw percentage over four quarters of action.

The Blue Devils will now prepare for their first exhibition game of the season against Shaw at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Duke will then host Queens in an exhibition contest on Sunday, Nov. 4 before opening up the 2012-13 season at home against Presbyterian on Saturday, Nov. 17.
