DURHAM, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference today announced the 2009 All-ACC Academic Indoor Track & Field squad, which included 10 Blue Devils who received recognition for both their academic and athletic accomplishments for the indoor season.
Seven members of the Duke men’s track & field team – John Austin (throws), Michael Barbas (throws), Andrew Brodeur (distance), Mario Moreno (hurdles), Sid Palas (throws), Chris Rowland (middle distance), and Bo Waggoner (distance) – were honored, as the Blue Devils tied with Florida State with the most representatives in the conference on the men’s side.
A total of 84 student-athletes were honored on the 2009 teams. Eleven of those earned an ACC title this year and 23 claimed All-ACC honors, including Lehman for the Blue Devils.
Forty-one student-athletes were named to the men’s squad, while 43 made the women’s, representing all 12 member institutions.
