DURHAM, N.C. - Following a series of heavy rains and a 45-minute lightning delay , game two of the Duke-Wake Forest series was suspended with the Blue Devils trailing 6-5 heading into the bottom of the 10th inning. Game two will resume on Sunday at 12 p.m. with the final game of the series set to begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two.

Wake Forest designated hitter Carlos Lopez homered over the left-field wall in the top of the 10th inning to put the Demon Deacons up 6-5. Following the completion of the top of the 10th, officials called for a weather delay at 2:35 because of lightning. Following a 45-minute delay in which several standing water spots formed on the field the game was postponed until tomorrow.

The Blue Devils scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to force the extra frame.

Duke's rally in the ninth began with a one-out single to right field by second baseman Matt Berezo. With two outs in the inning, designated hitter Jeff Kremer singled to left field to put runners on first and second. Mark Tatera drew a walk, pinch-hitting for Anthony D'Alessandro to load the bases for the Blue Devils. First baseman Chris Marconcini plated Berezo and pinch-runner Joe Pedevillano with a single to center field. Center fielder Will Piwnica-Worms followed with a double high off the wall in left-center field to score Brian Litwin, who was pinch running for Tatera, and Marconcini.

All four of Duke's runs in the ninth came with two outs.

Wake Forest starting pitcher Tim Cooney went eight 2/3 innings before being replaced in the ninth by Michael Dimock. Dimock inherited two of Cooney's runners. Cooney allowed nine hits, three earned runs while striking out six. Dimock got out of the ninth by retiring left fielder David Perkins. Dimock allowed three hits, two earned runs and one walk.

Duke starter Dennis O'Grady went seven innings allowing five runs on four hits and five walks, while striking out eight. Ben Grisz, who entered in relief in the eighth inning, pitched three innings allowing one run on four hits and two walks, while striking out four.

The Blue Devils struck first, with Piwnica-Worms driving in his first of three RBIs in the game. Piwnica-Worm's double down the left field line plated Kremer, who singled to lead off the inning.

Wake Forest rallied in the third, plating four in the top half of the inning. Second baseman Conor Keniry doubled to score catcher Brett Armour and shortstop Pat Blair. Center fielder Steve Brooks then drew a walk, followed by a single off the glove of shortstop Angelo LaBruna from Matt Conway. Left fielder Mac Williamson's sacrifice fly to right plated Keniry and Lopez's sacrifice fly to left field scored Brooks.

The Demon Deacons added another in the top of the fourth thanks to a solo home run by Blair.
