Olympic Spring Sport Broadcast Schedule Announced

DURHAM, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced its broadcast schedule for six spring Olympic sports Thursday, with three Duke teams scheduled to appear on ESPNU, ESPN3 and the ACC Digital Network on YouTube. The baseball team will have five games broadcast across the three platforms, while the men’s lacrosse team will be featured three times and the women’s lacrosse team twice.

The nationally-ranked men’s lacrosse team will make three appearances this season on ESPNU. The Blue Devils’ matchup against Maryland at Koskinen Stadium will be the first ACC men’s lacrosse game broadcast of the season on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m., while the team’s Friday, April 12 home matchup against Virginia will also appear on ESPNU. In addition, Duke will face-off at North Carolina on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m.  

In baseball, two of the three games of the Blue Devils’ series against Florida State are scheduled to appear on ESPN3, including the opening game of the series on Friday, April 12 at 6 p.m. The final game of the three-game series will also be broadcast on ESPN3 Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m. In addition, each of the three-game series at rival North Carolina from April 19-21 are scheduled to appear on ESPN3.

The women’s lacrosse team will have two games broadcast by ESPN3 and the ACC Digital Network on YouTube. Duke’s March 2 matchup against Vanderbilt will appear on ESPN3, while the ACC Digital Network on YouTube will carry Blue Devils’ game at North Carolina on Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m.

Overall, ACC spring Olympic sport teams will make a record 159 appearances on television this season, surpassing the previous record set last year of 82 events.
