DURHAM, N.C. – After a break from competition for final exams, the Duke baseball team returns to action Sunday, traveling to Liberty for the first of six-straight road contests. The Blue Devils and the Flames meet at 3 p.m., Sunday at the Liberty Baseball Stadium in Lynchburg, Va.

The Blue Devil Network will carry a live audio broadcast with Steve Barnes set to call the action. Fans can also follow updates via @Duke_BASE, the official Twitter account of the Duke baseball program.

Duke and Liberty have each won four games in the all-time series, which began with a Blue Devil victory March 29, 1989 in Durham. Duke swept both games in a home-and-home series the last time the two programs met back in 2010. The Blue Devils took game one, 3-2, March 17 in Durham, before earning a 4-1 decision over the Flames April 20 in Lynchburg, Va.

The Blue Devils and the Flames were set to meet a season ago, but inclement weather forced the two teams to cancel the 2012 contest.

Duke sits at 25-22 overall (9-15 ACC) after dropping two-of-three to conference foe Maryland in its last outing. The Terps shut out the Blue Devils in game one, 1-0, and picked a 4-1 win Sunday to secure the series. Duke trailed by two or more runs three times in Saturday’s contest, but the Blue Devils rallied for the 11-9 win.

Liberty brings a 26-21 (11-7 Big South) overall record into the weekend after its four-game win streak was snapped Tuesday. The Flames swept Big South opponent VMI over the weekend prior to a 4-2 loss to Maryland Tuesday, May 1.

Duke’s current road swing continues with a trip to Davidson Tuesday May 7. The Blue Devils then hit the road to take on Virginia in a three-game set in Charlottesville, Va.
