Freiman, the American League Rookie of the Month for May, continues to play well for Oakland in his first big league season. For the month of May, Freiman batted .351 (13-for-37) and posted nine RBI. Freiman helped the A’s to an extra inning win over the White Sox Saturday, as he recorded an RBI triple in the bottom of the fifth inning. The triple is Freiman’s first this season, as he now owns 15 RBI for the campaign. In the field, Freiman owns a .992 fielding percentage on the season with just one charged error in 142.2 innings played. Oakland sits in second place in the AL West, 1.5 games back of the Rangers. As a Rule V pickup, Freiman must remain on the A’s active roster for the entire season or get sent back to the San Diego Padres.

He was rated by Baseball America as having the best strike zone judgment in the Red Sox organization entering the 2012 season.
