In his last three appearances, Capuano recorded one loss and two no-decisions, while allowing six earned runs over 17.0 innings. The left-hander struck out one batter and walked another in a no-decision effort against the Miami Marlins Aug. 20. Five days later, Capuano faced the Boston Red-Sox, giving up two earned runs on six hits in a losing effort. On Aug.31, Capuano pitched 7.0 innings against the San Diego Padres. The Padres recorded eight hits off Capuano, however the team scored only one earned run. Capuano struck out seven batters in the game before leaving in the eighth. Over his last three starts, Capuano dropped his ERA from 4.70 to 4.41.

After his last major league appearance on Aug. 21, Burke was reassigned to the Class-AAA Las Vegas 51s, where he has since seen success over his last five games. The right-hander has pitched five innings in five games, allowing just two earned runs in a game against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Aug. 26. Burke struck out eight batters over the five game stretch. The reliever has kept opposing hitters at bay since his reassignment, not allowing a homerun since Aug. 15 and holding the opposition to an average of just one hit per game over the last five games.

The Oakland Athletics currently remain atop the American League West, tied with the Texas Rangers and 15.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Angels.

Hassan was reactivated from the disabled list Sept. 1, following a fractured finger suffered Aug. 15. In two games since his return, Hassan recorded a .500 average (3-for-6), while also scoring two runs. The leftfielder’s .321 average and .891 OPS currently rank second in the Class-AAA International League. The Pawtucket Red Sox clinched the International League North Division.

Kremer’s prowess at the plate continues to be an asset for the Rockford Aviators. On Aug. 25, facing the Joliet Slammers, Kremer stepped to the plate and hit a game-winning three-run homerun with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, lifting the Aviators over the Slammers by a score of 10-8. The homerun marked the third for Kremer this season. Kremer’s 2-for-5 performance against Joliet raised the outfielder’s average to a team-leading .355. In addition to leading the team in batting average, Kremer also ranks fourth on the team in homeruns and fourth on the team in RBI with 40 on the season.

After returning from the disabled list on Aug. 25, Lemmerman appeared in five games for the Springfield Cardinals. The shortstop stepped to the plate eight times in five games, recording two hits, two walks and one stolen base. Lemmerman’s 11 stolen bases rank him tied for fourth on the Springfield Cardinals. The Springfield Cardinals season ended Monday, Sept. 2, following an 8-4 loss to the Tulsa Drillers.

Left-handed hitters continue to struggle against the left-handed pitcher, averaging just .242 over his last 19.0 innings pitched.

McCurdy appeared in nine games with the Corpus Christi Hooks, recording three hits on 22 at-bats. McCurdy is hitting well in away games recently, averaging .250 on eight plate appearances.

Three nights later, the right-handed closer gave up one run and walked four batters before earning the save in 1.1 inning of work against the Lancaster Jethawks. O’Grady’s 53 appearances and ten saves this season are both the highest of his minor-league career.

Piwnica-Worms once again became a member of the Potomac Nationals. Prior to playing for the Hagerstown Suns, Piwnica-Worms appeared in four games with the Potomac Nationals, recording a .273 average in four games between April 15 and April 21. Prior to his return to Class A Advanced, Piwnica-Worms demonstrated patience at the plate, ranking third among his Hagerstown teammates in walks with 55.
