Baseball Hosts Czech Republic in Exhibition Game

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke baseball team hosts the Czech Republic National Baseball Team in a nine-inning exhibition game Thursday, Oct. 10 at Jack Coombs Field at 5 p.m.
 
The event is open to the public and admission to the game is free. Fans unable to attend can watch the Blue Devil Network live video via GoDuke.com with Chris Edwards on the call.
 
Thursday’s exhibition game is part of the Czech Republic National Team’s USA Tour, which runs from Oct. 3-15. The Czech Republic is set to play eight exhibition games, including contests at Campbell, UNC Wilmington, NC State and East Carolina.

The Czech Republic team is currently ranked 25th in the world following the 2013 World Baseball Classic, and consists of players ages 19-32.
 
Duke concludes its fall preparations with its Fall World Series, beginning Friday, Oct. 25. The Blue Devils open the 2014 campaign with a three-game series Feb. 14-16 against 2013 America East champion Binghamton.
