After a slow start, Lumpa emered as one of Duke's most consistent hitters over the second-half of the 2013 season. Over the final 25 games of the season, the Udhailiyah, Saudi Arabia native led the team in batting average (.390), on-base percentage (.515), hits (32) and walks (18). For the season, Lumpa led the Blue Devils in on-base percentage (.438) and ranked tied for second in batting average (.311).
Lumpa has seen time at second base and left field during his Duke career, while also making 30 apperances on the mound. A .286 career hitter, Lumpa also owns a .402 on-base percentage over his first three seasons with the Blue Devils.
Duke opens the spring campaign Feb. 14-16 with a three-game series against 2013 America East champion Binghamton.
