• Due to inclement weather, Duke faces Big South opponent Liberty Wednesday, March 5 at Jack Coombs Field. Originally set for a 3 p.m. contest Tuesday at Liberty Baseball Stadium, the two teams now square off Wednesday at 3 p.m. ... Wednesday’s game in the first of a home-and-home series between the Blue Devils and the Flames. Duke and Liberty meet again in Lynchburg, Va., Tuesday, April 1 at 6 p.m.

• Wednesday’s tilt marks the 10th meeting in program history between Duke and Liberty ... The Flames lead the all-time series 5-4, including a 4-3 victory over the Blue Devils in the two squads’ lone meeting last season.

Our Last Meeting
• Liberty scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth to defeat Duke, 4-3, May 5, 2013 at Liberty Baseball Stadium ... The Flames’ Ashton Perritt earned the win, striking out two while allowing two unearned runs in the final two frames. Duke’s Andrew Istler did not give up an earned run but suffered the loss after an inning of work. Istler allowed one hit, walked one and struck out one batter ... Liberty totaled 10 hits for the game, led by Perritt, Bryan Aanderud and Dalton Britt with two apiece. Duke had five hits in the game with Jeff Kremer, Chris Marconcini, Aaron Cohn, Grant McCabe and Kenny Koplove recording one hit each ... Robert Huber pitched the first three innings for Duke and escaped a bases loaded jam in the first to keep the game scoreless early.
Duke vs. Big South
• Duke brings an 84-51-1 all-time record against Big South opponents into Tuesday’s contest: Campbell (17-14), Charleston Southern (3-0), Coastal Carolina (1-0), Gardner-Webb (5-0), High Point (12-14), Liberty (4-5), Longwood (6-1-1), Presbyterian (5-2), Radford (9-5), UNC Asheville (3-2), VMI (14-5) and Winthrop (4-3) ... Liberty is the second of two Big South teams Duke faces this season. The Blue Devils hung on for a 7-5 victory in their first meeting with Coastal Carolina Sunday, March 2 in the Caravelle Resort Tournament.
